Q:
A Texan was talking big in a bar one night about how much money he had, how many women he had been with and how much land he owned.
A young man, growing tired of all the big talk finally asked the Texan, "Just how much land do you actually own?"
The Texan tipped back his cowboy hat and said to the young man, "Well, Sonny, let me put it to ya like this, I can get in my pickup at sunrise, drive all day long, skip lunch and still not get to the other side of my property by sundown."
The young man shot back quickly, "Oh yeah, I know what you mean. I used to own a Ford truck too!"
Mans Prayer "I'm a man.... But I can change..... If I have too...... I guess"
No matter how good she looks, some other guy is sick and tired of putting up with her.

Don't forget Fix Or Repair Daily....
Had a 77 280Z and two 70 510 Wagons once upon a time...
A:
That was the other one I couldn't remember. Must have had a Ford moment.

A:
Hmmm...
What manufacturer has won the most motorsports events worldwide?
Ford.
Do you know who is #2...
A:
Nope, don't know who is number two, but with enough bailing wire and duct tape anyone can keep a vehicle together long enough to win at least once.

This is not just one event but consistent wins over time in motorsports events.
This is an impressive record.
In the day... the majority of F1 teams ran Ford engines. Many still do.
Many manufacturers enter races to win a trophy and then drop their motorsports campaign.
Few stick over time.
Ford is one that has stuck.
More impressive is the #2 manufacturer to win the most motorsports events; Nissan.
They did this on a microscopic budget compared to Ford.
They also focused on fewer types of motorsports events to get the most bang and exposure for their Yen.
A:
but your talking about engines and what not that are built the hell and back and after each use are torn down and rebuilt again
A:
Funny how their production engines can't take that kind of beating.

My old 351M V-8, 78 F-250 with 200,000 + miles will start and drive in the coldest, or hottest weather and not strand me somewhere like some other cars i have owned.....namely foriegn cars, and pull and carry loads that Nissan and Toyota trucks would cry at. My 125,000 mile explorer knocks down 20 mpg, commuting country/city roads to work, and gets 16 mpg pulling our 4500 lb camper through the hills. I won't own Chevy stuff, and Dodge units seem to get horrible gas mileage. In whitbread middle America, there just aren't that many used foriegn cars or trucks.

I have a 94 f150 with 351m v8 with 175000 miles on it , the only work done to the truck since new is tires, brakes, and a new battery last year. its in great shape. starts in any weather, has never let me down. im a carpenter and have used this truck evert day for work. it has never used a drop of oil, tranny fluid, powersteering fluid, or antifreeze. It will still leave rubber on the take off , and has had the speedometer past 90 many times. I ve had chevy and dodge trucks they didnt even come close to this truck. its easy to flame a certain truck but until youve owned and driven them hard dont knock them.
Anybody got another make of truck with those credientials - lets hear about it.
if youve never owned a ford truck dont knock them.

I drove a 95 Chevy 1500 as a work truck. When we retired it, it had 305,000 on her. Transmission was rebuilt at 175K. Of course the front end had been gone for some time

"Duct tape and bailing wire"?
Hey!
I resemble that remark.
1975 Ford F-150 - at least parts of it are - but don't ask me which ones.
I won't let Jeanne decorate the house for Christmas because 8 cats would hve it in shreads and I'm not getting on a ladder to deal with lights.
She's decorating the F-150 instead. (It's her truck and she doesn't drive)

Yep Ford makes some badass motors...just some of the cars they put them in along with the wiring systems is usually what sucks :)
I agree, Ford motors find their way into lots of race cars. Cosworth makes some pretty mean Ford motors. Take your L28, or VG30 or whatever else you nay-sayers have to Cosworth and tell them your motor is a better one than theirs and watch them laugh you out of the building.
A:
I will admit that almost every older Ford pickup I have seen needs a new steering column because the ignition or auto trans shifter goes bad. Other than that I am a Ford truck fan through and through.
