03:30 PM Going to school to pick up my daughter and an old lady in an Audi decides to make a righ hand turn at a 4 way intersection as I am going through. Slam on my brakes an nearly put the same front right fender into her hip, she does not even look, just continues and waves then crosses two lanes to immediately make a left hand turn.

Apparently women of any age should not be allowed to drive......
If driver licenses were as expensive to get in the states as they are in europe, less people would be driving. Also, if you fail the written test more than 2X you should NOT be allowed to get a license until you have retaken the entire driver training course. There are some states where when a 16 year old gets a license they cannot drive with anyone in the car who is not immediate family, cannot drive late at night, cannot use cell phones while driving, and have other restrictions for the first 6 months. I think it's a good idea.

NC has a limited permit in effect. I don't think they can get a full license until they're 18 though. Keeps them off the streets at night and limits distractions from friends in the backseat.

I have to totally agree with you guys about Houston....even the cops will blaze by you on the freeway and I swear I have seen them going 100 mph cause I was going 80 just trying to keep up with the traffic and not get run over...

Saw an article years ago where they interviewed longhaul truckers and the States of Georgia and California tied for the worst drivers.
I figure since I learned to drive in Georgia and lived in Calif for entirely too long, that I must be a complete mess on the road.
Here in Indiana, folks will hold the door for you, but once they get behind the wheel, all courtesy is out the window...usually at the tip of the middle finger!

Yeah the cops and the tow truckers are the craziest most idiotic drivers out there sadly, dallas is bad too. I've almost been KILLED, not just crashed, by tow truckers SEVERAL times, 100% their fault. Once I was nearly rear ended by an idiot cop going about 120mph in the fast lane without his lights on when I was riding 80mph on my bike. Luckily I'm an extremely weary rider and check my mirrors every 2-3 seconds without exception. I downshifted to 4th and was able to accelerate and move over before what I thought was some idiot drunk driver, which turned out to be a cop, almost ran me over. Those are the same idiots who leave their cop cars on for 5-6 hours at a time while they eat and chat, burning away our liquid tax money and wearing the cars I paid for into the ground.
I don't blame cops for being on edge and often a little nuts on certain sides of houston. I've seen first hand a few times, unfortunately, what they have to deal with EVERY day. But then again, their job is to deal with that without taking it out on everyone. Most are good cops, but so are lawyers and they have a $hit rep too.

Almost on a daily basis a short haul trucker or "South of the Boarder" rig
jacknifes, spills a load, over turns or gets stuck under the overpass.
I-10 (main East West artery to the world) has been impassable I don't know how many times.
