accord->fix/sell or just sell

Just curious what you guys would do. It's helpful to see what unclouded minds think [not mine].
108k miles 1999 accord.
I can sell it in its present condition for 7250 IF-
-crank oil seal is fixed
-distributer is replaced
Otherwise, I'd probably have to be unethical or sell it for a lot less which I really do not want to do.
If a shop does it, it will cost about 500-700 [dealer] to fix the oil leak. An additional 200-300 for the distributer. That's like selling it for about 6250-6500 right now.
If I do it, it'll cost me a lot of time [if I can even do it without a lift or garage] and about 250 including tools for both jobs. That's just the special tools called for in the manuals, not transmission stands or other fancy stuff. Which is like selling it for 7k, which I would be ok with.
I currently have a 91 LS400 and motorcycle I need to pay taxes on, the sooner the better [600.00]. The LS needs a somewhat minor oil leak also fixed I was going to do over xmas. I've got tuition to pay for which is going to set me back this week. In other words, finding much over 500 for any mechanic work is going to stress me out.
What do you think? I can for sure do the distributer myself.

Don't have the dealer fix it. Have a reputable but cheaper shop do the oil leak, and do the distributor yourself.

No matter how good she looks, some other guy is sick and tired of putting up with her.

You have to balance your low $$ & low tool situation against higher POTENTIAL selling price. What makes you think distributor is at fault? Make sure what you're planning on fixing will get you more $$. With that said, distributor probably would be easy to fix if you know how. Pulling tranny is more trouble & expense especially in the cold with no tools, time or money. I'd check with reputable nondealer shop & also friends to get a bottom line. Probably would do like above & change dist with shop doing seal. BUT, make sure 1 the repairs are necessary (proper diagnosis) AND that you gain by fixing. I've never had to change a seal without another reason to pull the tranny.
Anyone can drive a new car.

Fix the distributer and sell it for $7k. I think that would be fair to whomever buys it and if the leak is bad they can go through the trouble of getting it fixed.

Buy some chickens and let them live in it; then take photos and post them on honda forums just to make them cry hehe.

Only fix the oil leak if you have to. Many people want to save money and are willing to keep an oil pan under a car and just add oil rather than pay a lot of money to get a leak fixed. Just let 'em know up front and write it on the bill of sale that you are not responsible for it.
Rusty but running.
Polish cell phone and two tubes of Aluma-seal.
And, now we are historic.

ROFL.
If you leave it like that and tell them when you try to sell it to them, they will wonder what else is wrong with it. This might be a deal breaker. I'd fix it and sell it for as much as possible, ie KBB/Edmunds/NADA private party value less the miles.
