Hi everyone. Just wondering if any of you have done business on ebay through a thing called Squaretrade. There is a car I'd like to buy, sounds too good to be true, and the seller has a very good rating, but says he wants to do the transaction through Square trade. I'm only a four hour drive from it, asked him if I could go check out the car, and all he says is that he will ship it to me, and that through Squaretrade, once I have received it I don't have to pay it if car is not in the condition that he stated.
Any input please?

That's not to say he's not a dodgy seller, if you live close and want to view it in person and he wont let you then in my opinion dont buy that car. What's he got to hide yknow? Just my thoughts on it...

Well, thanks!!! That Square trade thing sounds really good, but like you say, if it's all about mediation and blah blah... Why wouldn't he mediate me going to see the car?

Luckily for me the Ebay seller of my car was 100% cool with if once you saw it in person and you did not want it that as ok with him. He understood 100%. That’s how I got the car. The original winner passed once he saw it in person. Guess it was more work then he was willing to take on. Car was right for me at the time.

it is most likely a scam. You're only four hours away and you can pick it up whereas it would cost more to have it shipped. And you want to go check it out but he won't allow you to?
You have the ability to bypass squaretrade because you're in the area and yet he wants to use it instead.
Call him a scammer and run!
