Q:
A friend of mine told me of this auction today on ebay for an '83 280ZX 2+2 using one of the pics of my car! The pic of my car is an '82 280ZX 2 seater hardtop coupe! WTF! The pics of my car were posted here:
http://www.240ztt.com/robs280zx.html
here is the ebay ad:
This ass could have at least done a better google search? Or how about taking his own pictures? In any case it's been reported.

Nice, no better flattery than imitation right?

wow, that's not even a 2+2 .. Nice Z though.

Funny thing is that '82 has already been parted out and sent to the garbage bin. It had terminal rust where the rear suspension mounts to the unibody. Have no fear because another '82 hardtop is on the way here. Have to go to Huntington Beach, Ca. to pick it up and drive it back across the country!! The engine made it into this 280Z though:
This is the engine bay before the 280ZX swap #2 (the engine pictured came from an '82 2+2 that I used to own w/ an ATK eng. in it):
This is before 280ZX engine #2 went in: (eng. #1 is waiting to go into 240ztt's '79 2 door 810 hardtop):
Another shot of the engine bay before the '82 engine went in:

Too funny! That's my attempt at spot rust repair and when I stood back from it and had a cold beer I couldn't resist taking a photo of it. This photo was taken back in June when it was about 95 degrees and 75% humidity. It repaid me by shitting a fuel pump relay after reassembly was done. Who had the last laugh? The relay is NLA from Nissan I went aftermarket and finally stumbled across NAPA. Would you believe NAPA was able to get it for $36 and when I opened the box it was a Niles from Japan piece (O.E. supplier to Nissan)!
It still has a ways to go as both front fenders and headlight buckets need replacing and then maybe a paintjob not too far down the road.

Imagine the poor bastard who doesn't read the ad very carefully and shows up to take the car home and sees it's a 2+2 w/ t-tops!

Well, at least he did say in his auction that it's a representation of his car...
"Picture is presented on page is similar to actual vehicle, but lacks my cars t-tops."
Unlike mine where the images are blatantly stolen from my site. He even told me the pictures he used were of HIS CAR!
His auction:
My website two of the images came from:

everybody report it to ebay

It happened to me a few times that a seller either used my description or pics and ebay VERO act on it faster when more people reported it.

They told me they couldn't do anything about it since it wasn't stolen from another auction.

Digital cameras are like 50.00 now, nobody has an excuse except for sheer laziness for taking other people's pics. It is that hard to click on a camera?? It seems like the more technology we get, the lazier some people get, and then they are too lazy to even do it the easy way...... ...?
A:
That's funny. I would be flattered and at the same time, WTF, especially on ebay. Someone used my picture before in a webpage before...didn't mind, they said nice things about it. :)

My suggestion is to do this:
Ask the seller a question through Ebay.
Get him to answer you with his own email address.
Sign him up for some gay porn or something.
I hate people who steal other peoples pictures or auction write-ups. Same crap happened to me last year when I was selling on Ebay.....I fixed his ass.

71hakosuka ,
Thanks for the advice; I may just end up doing that. It's like seven day revolution stated that with the cheap entry fee to access modern technology it doesn't make sense not to take advantage of it. I don't mind if someone wants to use the pic for their homepage (oem-surplus di dthat with an int. pic of that same car). We'll see if ebay responds to the email I sent them yesterday.
BTW, your '78 S30 w/ g-nose is realy stunning! The GC-10 is also very nice as well. Stringing together two ends of Nissan's history from the Prince Motors days is pretty clever.
