I shipped a 40' container from Halifax, Canada to Dublin Ireland. A 15' car was inside along with houshold furniture. Cost was $6K USD to Ireland and $10USD return (used a Canadian shipper then an Irish shipper... go figure eh).
The shipment went via Rotterdpm
Anyway you can get 20' containers however there are shippers that specialize in moving cars... search the net.
btw I hope this inquiry is not because of a scam/spam email you received?

blue -- no scam involved.
what i was thinking is that I may move to europe. certainly the driving in northern spain (where my family is from) is much better than here in chicago -- flat boring midwest.
if i did move, i would probably ship the Z and a bunch of music gear. wonder what a 76 280Z would sell for in europe?

:)
I think a car transport company may get it there between $1k and $2k.
I wish I left mine home and bought a used one in Ireland... used MR2's were ~ $4k Euros. My wife and daughter would not have liked it.
We bought a used Nissan Ultimera loaded for around the same. It was a nice saloon. I had to change the alternator and rad but apart from that it was no prob.
There are lons of cool cars in Europe to choose from.

look in the chicago yellow pages under shipping agents. last car i shipped to lehavre was less than $500. arranged shipping in chicago, dropped car off in new jersey. don't leave anything in the car that you don't want to go missing ie anything that isn't bolted down. Bilbao is nice, look out for the donkey carts.

I shipped my porsche 914 from Baltimore to Barcelona in 2003 for $1,225. Price included full insurance, ( in case ship sinks or car gets scracthed). It wasn't in a container, but it arrived fine. The transport company that was cheapest then, was "AA Transport". You should find them on the Internet super easily. Also if you call them ask to talk with May, she is the nicest.
Also, it is probably cheaper to ship to Amsterdam since more ships go there than to Bilbao. You might want to try Rotterdam, which gets the biggest ship traffic in Europe, followed by Antwerp, Belgium, the 2nd largest port. Just depends on how far you are from each port. If you have any questions, I have some experience with shipping cars overseas, feel free to e-mail me!!!!!!
Cheers!!

Cost me about $1400 for a 280z in 1983 from Houston to Bremen. You have to specify "under deck" if you want it back without rust. If they have to stack in on deck then they will put it into a sealed 20footer.
