Why ITB's are cool

Q:

Sure a single TB/plenum set up might be easier to tune and make just as much power but it just doesn't make this sound!

Oh c'mon guys i hate civics with fart cans as much as the next guy but lets give credit where credit is due. A 2L 4cyl engine is not going to sound as deep and throaty as a 6 or 8cyl no matter what...but that doesnt mean that they're all loser ricers with slow cars. I think the sound that S2000 makes is amazing...and its mostly the ITB's...its louder coming than going...its very japanese superbike-esque.

I know! That thing sounds wicked! Nothing like a fart can exhaust, the growl coming out of that motor is enough to give me goosebumps. The setup that guy chose was very very cool.
'73 Turbo, not much stock. Sold now... :-(

The guy was a queer.

A:

Well, maybe it sounded SIMILAR to a fart can, because that's the sound fart cans are trying to imitate. That sounded like a racing machine, he prolly had a really open exhaust, cuz it was really loud.
And the guy sounded like a queer cuz he is foreign.
I thought the car sounded really good. I bet it runs great on a track with his setup.
Oh, and I don't really think residential streets is a good place for testing and recording your setup like that.

Easy 135hp per liter considering that's an AP1. I think very few cars would be more fun to drive than that one. It's nice to hear a car's engine for once, instead of just the exhaust.

I dont see anything rice about that. Makes we wish I had a few grand to put some triple efis on my car.
I had to fast forward past the guy flapping his gums for so long. If I was a neighbor in the neighborhood I might be tempted to throw out some roofing nails after the first pass though.

he didn't do much engine wise, just ITB few this and that...the cool thing is all in the suspension he has,
i didn't like how he listed all ofhis mods, take it on a track and let us see how that thing is, just bak and forth on the street is no good

Why oh why does he have the TOP UP?
And his little "sponsorship scripted comments" at the introduction make it hard to not realize he doesn't know half of what it is that's in there, he just paid to have it done, and needed a sheet to try and get back some sponsorship coin. Well, originally from a different country or culture. He may be an American and may not be strictly a foreigner, but English is definitely not his first language.

So there are "Americans" And there are "Foreigners"
I'm sure our friends in the UK will like that classification...
What a particularly American Point of View of the World...

LOL, well, yes I guess you are right, that is from MY point of view.
FOREIGNER: (www.dictionary.com)
- One who is from a foreign country or place.
- One who is from outside a particular group or community; an outsider.
- A person who comes from a foreign country; someone who does not owe allegiance to your country
I should have specified that by "different" I meant, non-English speaking.
But I did say "not strictly a foreigner", merely that "English is definitely not his first language".
And I was obviously not dividing the whole world into 2 groups, Americans and foreigners, which is a pretty supremacist attitude.
My apologies to any non-American English speakers who might have taken offense at my comment.

Actually, the way it was written, and read, it really did look like you were.
Glad you made that last clarification---I din't think that was what you were implying, because when most Americans say such a line that is exactly what they are implying. It's not "supremacist" necessarily, just putting your country at the center of the universe. "Foreigner" is one of those sloppy classifications that lets one open to misunderstanding because of the context in which is usually arises. I think you hit it on the head when you said "non native english speaker" which is probably more correct, unless he's from New Jersey.... Or has a speech impediment. I had one guy I worked with for years floor me one day when he told me he was Iranian, and didn't learn to speak English till he was 14 years old! In all the years I worked with him (and this is no lie) I would have sworn to gawd he was an Italian-Descended dude from South Jersey! My exact words to him were "Iranian, I thought you were from JERSEY! That's not an Iranian Accent!" LOL Kinda stereotyping, eh?
Having been a "foreigner" in many other countries around the world, I get exposed to Outside-the-USA thinking a lot. Thing is everyone does exactly what you stated above. In Indonesia, there are foreigners who are EVERYONE but Indonesians. In France, there are the French, and Foreigners...
In Germany... Uh, lets not GO THERE! LOL

OH yea,.... and Belgium... they're just crazy! J/K, well I grew up in Belgium, but have American parents. So I have dual citizenship. I've been back in the States now for 4 years, but more often than not, I feel more Belgian than American. Growing up abroad, I think has given me a little broader perspective on things. I use terms like "foreigner" and other words with "sloppy classifications" that can easily be misinterpreted a little looser than most. Of course this can get me in trouble if I'm not careful.
So in short, when I say "foreigner" I'm using the word with a positive connotation, though I admit it can sound negative.
Also, I have a good ear and a knack for languages, so when someone accused the guy of sounding queer, I had to stand up and say something in defense of the guy (and the rest of us semi-foreigners).
