Well, after working for 2 months and not getting paid, I told my boss that I had to go back to the IE and work until things got going at the studio again.
So, today I get a call from him, and he tells me that since he couldnt afford to pay me right now, he'd like to know if I would take his car in exchange for money. I figured I could use a second car since my z is temperamental, and the fumes make me not want to drive it everyday anyway. So I'm picking it up in a few weeks. Its a 1985 BitterSC coupe. Only about 250 of them in the US. I'll shoot some pics of mine but here are some examples.

I have a Bitter as well.. The car is wonderful when it works right.. The Bitter had every problem you can think of.. However, it's still one fine machine.. A big money car when it was new.. A real high speed road car and a rare sight to see! I'll bet you thought nobody here knew what in the world a Bitter is.. It looks like a Ferrari 400 series.. Be careful if you take this car.. Do your homework on the Bitter first because the Bitter can be one Bitter bitch.. This car is a weekend toy, not an everyday car.. Good luck and I hope you get the car.

If it runs and looks great. I would sell it off and use the $$ to buy something more for everyday driving and cheaper on parts. Remember that you're looking for reliability.

Hmm, haven't picked it up yet, maybe I should pass it up. How hard do you think it would be to sell? What specific problems did you run into with it?

Wow that's hot...if you don't need the money, a rare car can really only appreciate in value. I'd go with the car. Most things can be fixed with new universal parts, like Painless wiring harnesses for example.

Well to be honest, I would use the money to get another car. If this one was reliable it would be cool dip in. I just don't want it to turn into a project. I already got Z. I may just tell him to sell it. I'm not sure how long it would take to sell that car if I needed to.

That's such a special interest car it will be hard to sell even if it's in top shape. And if it was in top shape and he needed the money to give to employees, he'd have already sold it himeslf.
He's merely handed you a pay check and told you not to cash it.
