Intrest in Custom Leather Shift Boots?

General Chat

Q:

My father is making a custom leather shift boot/ebrake cover for a friend with a 280Z. And would have a template for one. Would anyone be interested if he started making more. and how much would you be willing to pay for them, in assorted colours. I'll post pictures once it's done.

How much did your friend pay for the shift boot and e-brake boot that you made for him?
Do you offer discounts if both of them are purchased together rather than separately?

I owed him for some parts...
say approx. $30-$45 for both, they will probibly be made to match the original factory look. just trying to gauge interest to see if it's worth doing.

I would if its better than that silly stiff-azz one that MSA and Victoria British sell. I bought that thing and it just looks out of place, its hard as a rock!
'73 Turbo, not much stock. Sold now... :-(

I'd be interested in one for my z31. I don't really dig the ugly rubber boot on my shifter. any ideas if you'd be making one for z31 applications? I agree the MSA one is kinda awdward looking.

I'd like 1 for my 78. I have the original complete with grommets & leather lace. Will the copies include the details?

Would there be a bigger interest for ones that match the origianals as much as possible?? could someone please post some pics of a OEM shift boot and e-break cover.
Thanks

I'm more interested in a replacement cover for the long pigtail wires hanging out of the fusebox.
