Q:
Well after some good legs at Buffalo wild wings i get into my car and started driving out of the parking lot, then this crazy driver gets right on my bumper coming out of there
well im pissed because i don't want my Z to get hit, so i give it a little gas and this idiot behind me stays right on me.
then i turn left out onto the hwy and give it some more gas and hell before i know it im going sideways!!!!!! What the heck??? Why did my Z spin out so easy. I even have a slipping clutch.
My tires are rather new and not a whole lot of wear on them, but man it sucked backing up on a three lane road while cars are driving at you i never want to drive again. RWD isnt always fun.
Does anybody else out there always drift or powerslide as easy as i did???
I just turned out there going maybe 15 and gave it some gas and it was side ways and no going back like those drifting shows.
My stomach turned upside down and around.(so did The Z)

If the ground was dry, just let go of the gas. I love getting a little sideways, and i probably do it a little to much.

you DONT do a sideshot if your not expecting it..thats how you get hurt..
now when you do it on purpose its the one of the best feelings in the world..especially when its a perfect sideways drift..while still going straight :)
did that in my s2000 with a friend..scared the **** out of him though :)

I used to love kicking the ass end out too. Until one day I got cocky and ended up in a ditch. Drove around like this for a month.
I haven't broken traction (on purpose) since, and that was a year and a half ago.

My suggestion to you is to get right back in your car and continue driving right away! I'm serious, you will spook yourself from driving otherwise and I'm not even kidding.

I had a flat tire going into the clove leaf in rain --- that was not fun. I made a 180 degree spin right under the highway. I had to limp to the nearest discount tires on a flat (the spare was not any more full then the one with the nail).

Yea i was freaked for the rest of the night, I have kicked out the back on a few occasions on purpose though when its raining but that would be in an empty parking lot with nothing to hit.

I used to slide the rear end out in my old 200sx all the time. When I lived in Massachusetts, the winter time i'd be sliding all over the place on ice, scared everyone else but i had fun. Only hit one thing when I spun uncontrollably on dry roads and only hit something cuase the momentum in the spin tapped a guardrail right before it came to a stop. No damage though, on a mountain road, even though it was dry apparently a film of moss or mold or something from a rainstorm, no direct sunlight and the fact it felt like black ice made for an interesting trip. I really only get scared when the vette makes an unscheduled spin. The Z I've yet to play the much in sliding around, should prolly make a point to though. Gotta learn how it behaves...

"If the ground was dry, just let go of the gas."
This is absolutely the wrong thing to do, and is a leading CAUSE of unintended oversteer! At the limit + abruptly lift off the gas = spin.
A:
Just let off the gas when you feel it getting loose.
A:
You might feather the throttle a bit, but don't "just let off the gas" when you feel it getting loose. That would cause it to continue right around. You guys wouldn't last a day in an older 911!
A:
Whether letting of the gas is a good idea or not depends on the car.
If your car will generate a lot of torque when the gas is let off (say in a 911) then I would not suggest this.
But, if your car won't generate a lot of torque (say in a 300) then letting of the gas would help the tires re-grip the road.
All that being said, I agree with Dan that feathering the gas is likely the best plan of attack.

That technique of feathering works better when the car is in a TURN, not when the road is going straight. When the road is straight and the suspension is neutral then just get OFF the gas and the car will stabilize straight ahead.
A:
I thought he WAS in a turn entering a highway. Rereading the original post it's not clear, but it's hard to imagine anyone being so poorly skilled as to spin the car from accelerating in a straight line.
A:
True.
I don't see many entrances to freeways that turn abruptly so I was just assuming he was aimed faily straight. I guess some might. I've had the tail want to pass me on gentle turns at 15mph when the road is real slick!
A:
The road was slick, and i was turning left onto like a 35mph 3 lane road is what i ment they call it hwy 100. I just said that, and i was on the gas too hard probaly Causing me to spin

What kinda tires (make, model, size)?
One thing is for sure, experience at the limit will improve your driving skills in all conditions. Ever try autocross? Great cheap way to get experience at the limits of adhesion.
Meanwhile, take it easy in the wet!
A:
Thios time of the year it is crucial... With the wet leaves on the road you can kick out the back end unexpectedly much too easily.

Buffalo Wild Wings -- bleh! Their hottest flavor tastes like ass and isn't even that hot! But if you're not in Louisiana then I suppose it might be good ;)
Go to a parking lot that nobody is ever in next time it's raining and practice sliding around. Even if it's not fun for you it will give you a feeling for how the car is going to act when it starts slipping/sliding in the wet. You can't always predict when it's gonna happen but you can at least know how to react!

Thanks guys, Dan baldwin to answer your question there Invader Radial g\t, Says tread wear is A, whatever A means idk if there soft or not but when the roads are dry they handle good there also the stock size 215 60r im pretty sure, at $100 a piece i dont think there cheap tires.
Also i have been practicing sliding around in parking alots. When it rains of course, and i find very fun infact too much fun. I also want to get into autocrossing but i hear you have to be 18 to do it. I'm 16 but im been trying to get over there and find out for myself. I still like to take laps around where they meet.

Treadwear should be a number.
"A" is either for traction or temperature.
Quick search shows yer tires are all-season (will you be driving on snow?), S speed rated (112mph) and a 50k mile warranty, which means they're definitely not any kind of performance tire whatsoever. I bet treadwear is in the 400s. Wear like iron, grip like iron. Another bad thing is that they'll lose even more grip due to age by the time the tread's anywhere near gone.
I'd seriously consider an upgrade, with your power and weight I don't think you should have experienced what you did regardless of driving expertise.
Here are some tires to consider. Definitely get all-season if you might have to drive on snow. Life's short, don't drive on crap tires!

I know of a couple entrance ramps on Hyw, 71 going back to Houston from Austin - new black asphalt and sudden hort quick turn off feeder to ramp.
In slick conditions this could happen.
The advantage of experience is anticipating the road conditions.
But to get that experience - sometimes you learn from your mistakes -
just hope they're small mistakes and you're around to learn from them.
My first time on ice - I didn't want to get in the car for a month. My father didn't want me in his car again - at all.
