drove that around...puts down around 220whp.....that thing was pretty sweet....and not hard to launch at all....simple compared to my Z (either off boost with a little bog then when boost hits i'm lightin em up, or in boost and lightin up anyway), banging second was a breeze, unlike my 240 which i have to be totally dedicated to getting that thing into second with a fast shift....if my second was as smooth as that subie...it'd make it a lot more fun to drive. but overall it was a fun drive....smooth power delivery and a nice comfortable ride.

yeah...my friend has an STI that is putting about 315 to the wheels...Ive never driven it...but that thing is incredible...theyre good cars

What year Bama? If it was one of the older gen, 98 and so on those are absolutely phenomenal cars! They are lighter, and have a better suspension than the current gen Imprezas. With the turbo kit I would imagine they would be much quicker than an '03-'05 WRX. I've been looking for one, but 2.5rs owners are stingy.
'73 Turbo, not much stock. Sold now... :-(
A:
i actually have 3 friends here with turbo 25rs. 2 blue and one white....they are 99, 00 models..the ones where they started putting the big round fog lights in the front air dam. definately some sweet rides....
A:
No dis but i wasnt that impressed with the 02 I drove. It wasnt an sti tho. I would like to try one and get a comparison between the two. I'm spoiled now ...everything feels slow.

my Z at 9 psi will still smoke the subies, and that's with a poor tune, i'm just waitin on a new turbo, then fab a 3" DP, then dyno time....i have everything else. it's just a dif kind of car....i really liked it.
A:
what turbo are you waiting on? I'm running a to4e and putting down 326 whp at 13 psi. Next spring I plan on tuning for 16 psi.

same as you....right now i just have the stock t3....is yours a stroker?
A:
Hey Bama, just wait till you hit an uneven patch of asphalt, gravel splash, wet spot, snow, ice, or pothole and see how the Z fares compared to the Subie! I love my Z but it is strictly a fair weather, well maintained road car for the time being. But yeah, the Z motor is capable of alot more juice.

oh...i know....

theres nothing like modern equipment with AWD and I didnt mean to compare the overall packages. Only the seat of your pants feel.
No mines not a stroker...all stock internals. just the usual bolt-ons. Heres the basics,450cc inj, 60mm TB, 3" DP and exhaust with an 18" glaspack, alum flywheel.3.70 lsd, LG I/C with 2.5" plumbing, adj FPR, MSD fuel pump. The key is the wolf 3D standalone (not Jim Wolf) and dyno time to tune. I was shooting for 300hp and thought I was gonna have to go to 15psi to get it.It was nice to exceed my expectations.

nice...pretty similar to mine...cept i bored, raised compression to 8:1, forged pistons, and am running SDS with coil packs..plus all the little things to go along with it.
A:
Ahh subies....so damn boring. Over here in aus every 2nd car, or should I say if I'm out at night driving around the car hotspots every 2nd car is a subie. They're great cars but so damn BORING.

Sold - 1976 260z 2+2 Turbo, I'll miss you ol friend.
A:
yup, coil packs with a Nology ignition module and crank trigger. Not having a dizzy really cleans the engine bay up.
akeizm... I agree, boring. They need to put that drivetrain in a 2 seater. They'd sell a sheite load of'em.

between my moms 3.0L H-6 Subaru making 215whp and my bone stock 280zx, I'd take the Z... sure its slower, but its much more fun to drive.
