Q:
Well I told the story in an earlier post how the tranny shop pinched the oil line between the tranny and the block.
So I just talked to them today, and they said that the bearing was bad in the turbo, but the turbo shop (or whoever they took it to) told them it had nothing to do with them choking it for oil, although the turbo worked just fine before they did this.
Whats my next step of action?

sounds like a shitty shop. I had the same thing happen recently when I took my Z into Midas for some suspension work. Initially I just wanted an alignment. They couldn't align it properly because a ball joint was bad. I said go ahead and replace it and then align it. When I got my car back it was worse than it was when I took it in. Anytime I turned the wheel far to either direction there would be a Pop or Clunk and if I ran over bumps in the road it would cause the car to pull really hard to one way or the other..
When I took the car back to have them "fix" it again, they gave me the runaround and blew me off.
I drove it around for two weeks with it getting worse and worse and finally I took it back and spoke with the manager pretty firmly. I told him that I came in to have something fixed, and i got my car back in worse shape and when I brought it back to have it fixed they told me I didn't know what I was talking about. I told him that I know enough about cars to know that its clearly got some problems and I paid a lot of money to have it fixed and it was not fixed.
I took the manager for a ride in my car, made it totally obvious there was a problem, and they took the car in and fixed it and did a whole alignment for free. Sometimes you just have to be firm and lay down the law.

Just got off the phone with them and edited my post. Looks like I'm in worst shape now.

judging from your sig line, i assume that you could never collect on any warranty under any circomstances. i assume you need to buy a new turbo and start driving?

Call your own turbo shop and see what they say and if they would back it up if they look at it. If yes, take them to court!

Yeah umm... turbo + no oil = bad bearings + overheated turbo. plain as day.
If you can prove that they starved the turbo for oil, you have a case made right there. Any mechanic worth anything should know that a turbo will not survive the heat or speed without adequate lubrication. If they don't replace it or fix it, report them to the Better Business Bureau. Get the receipts of all the work, hopefully there is paper trail documenting the pinched oil line. They cannot argue with the papers and the evidence. Like I said, be firm and lay down some law on them. They have a responsibility to make it right, if they don't... Better Business Bureau would love to take down another lying/cheating/incompetant mechanic.

I'm definitely going to report them, and I have blown up pictures of the choked oil line. Do you think the pictures should be enough in court? Or would I have to pay to have another shop look at it, and diagnose it?

Just a question, but how did the tranny shop pinch the oil line in the first place. The oil line on an L series for the turbo should go no where near the turbo.
I guess I would have to read your older post to get the story.
Progress:

S30 one of these days I will get around to putting it all back together.

It goes from the turbo to the engine block. They sqished it inbetween the motor and the tranny.

Try and reason with them first, if they still are messing with you then report them. I would definitely give them the chance to make it right first though.

Find something easy they can do. You had a used turbo. Document how used then find or price a comparable replacement. They can at least refund your $$. Ask for more but have a settling point. If you can make life rougher for them than you, go for it (ie court, Notice in local paper etc). Cut your best deal then let it go. No sense wasting time over something a little $$ can fix.
Anyone can drive a new car.
A:
Well, I gave them a chance to make it right. They are claiming no responsibility, saying the turbo went out on its own, regardless of the fact that it went bad a few miles after they pinched the oil line. I only want them to pay for a rebuild on the turbo/installation. Not exactly sure how much that will cost. Anyone know?

I would probably assume it'll be at least a grand for the rebuild/installation. It shouldn't cost you a dime though.
