My name is David Roth and I am a film student at the University of
Southern California and am in desperate need of your assistance.
I am shooting a spec commercial for the Nissan 350Z for a student
project and am unavialable to locate the vehicle I need necessary to
pull off the rest of my shoot. I am looking for a Black 350Z coupe
(any year) to be available for my shoot near Victorville, CA. I have
already shot part of the commercial, which is why I am in need of that
particular vehicle. Our shoot dates are tentatively scheduled for
October 22 and 23.
I have tried searching the Los Angeles are for a Black 350Z, but have
been unable to locate anyone willing to let me use their vehicle.
I've tried local rental agencies that specialize in exotic cars but
have not been able to find a Black 350Z coupe which is what I pm
limited to. I also cannot afford to use a cinema vehicle locator
services as I am on a limited budget.
Here are the details of the shoot:
I need the vehicle for 2 to 3 full days and will return the vehicle
waxed and completely detailed. The production is covered by a
$1,000,000 general liablitly insurance policy. I am willing to offer
compensation and a possible loaner vehicle, if need be, to use their
Black 350Z coupe. I can offer transporation of the vehicle to and
from set and will only put miles on the car when filming (between
20-40 miles), if necessary. The car will not be involved in any stunt
work and will be driven by professional drivers on the shoot
(professional driver resume's available upon request). Any leads you
can offer through your connections or club would be hugely appreciated
as the shoot dates are approaching fast.
I know you may be skeptical but please be assured this is not a scam.
I will provide you Drivers Lisense and Insurance information and phone
numbers to our vendors to confirm my identity. If it takes the owner
driving the car to set and watch the entire day, i am also willing to
offer that, as well. The vehicle never has to leave the owner's
sight. (however, due to insurance I cannot have the owner drive while
we are filming).

Not that I don't believe you, cause I do, but what's to say you're not just going to drive off in the Z and I'd never see it again?
If I had one to offer that would definitely be running through my head before I handed my keys to a stranger.

I can provide you all my information (Driver's Lisense, Insurance Info.) and give all the give all numbers of the companies for you to call and confirm. Can also leave a security deposit, if need be or any other good faith gesture to let you know I am on the level. I can also invite you out to the shoot, if necessary.

The only way someone will do this is if they personally drive their car to the shoot and have the option to watch it the whole time.

cant you rent one? i would think in all of LA there would be a place to rent just about any type vehicle for film work.

I am more than willning to have the owner drive the vehicle to set and watch. (however, due to insurance they will be unable to drive when we shoot). The car never has to leave your sight.
Also, I've tried finding a rental agency in Los Angeles however none rent Black 350Z coupes. I originally rented the car from Enterprise Entertainment Division, however, they have since sold their car.
All the other rental agencies have convertible, and white and silver coupes....but no black ones. Therefore, i figured it couldn't hurt to try posting on the internet.

Like I mentioned before. The owner does not have to present the entire time we shoot, however, to proove I am not trying to rip anyone off of their car, the owner does have the choice to be present on set the entire time. We've got some really cool shots and I'm going to make the Z look awesome, I am just short a Z to shoot. Oh...the irony...

No matter how good she looks, some other guy is sick and tired of putting up with her.

The car will be returned unchanaged (except for mileage increase). It will be waxed and detailed which is a plus.
There will be no damage to the paint and nothing will be placed on the sheet metal or windows of the car to cause damage. If you think you might be intersted, please contact me and I can go over, in more details, the shoot. If you dont like what you hear, I am no worse off than when I started.

Unless you know a particular dealer open, I have tried some dealers in Los Angeles and they are either not interested or super super expensive (I can't afford on a student budget). I've even tried 'renting' a used car from their used car lot....no luck as of yet.

Why don't you rent one from Vegas, There are several 350Z rental companies and hell you can even rent a Ferrari, Lambo, Maserati, etc.. here. They may even let you use it for free providing they get some kind of publicity for it.

To be perfectly honest with you, I think that you will really struggle to find a guy who will let someone else drive it for the shoot, as frankp implys it's is kinda like letting someone have your woman for a day haha...
