first off this guy is being hella retarded - he used to own an auto parts store - hes my neighbor hes retarded and needs to be shot for other reasons than this but this just really pissed me off
i use seafoam in the intake - get a pretty good amount of smoke - he comes over hes like what are you doing you have to think about polution this has got to be a code violation - i proceed to tell him what im doing and he says " i know what your doing i used to sell all this stuff" and he just keeps going on and on about calling the city about code violations and junk - and the only reason i cared was because he had did it once befor when one night after i parked the s130 the next mornign i cam out and started it to go drive off and i have no PS i get out and its all over the ground and had already soaked in because i guess it happened durning the night - i was like wtf threw some **** on it made sure my PS wasnt leaking and off to work i get home - and i get city raped because this guy called and they gave me a warning and was like if we have to come out here again fine up the ass bla bla and it was totallay retarde because the neighbor made it seem i purposly went out with some PS and dumped it under my car for fun

Why can't people mind their own buisiness? I had neighbors do that to my parents about parking their cars on the side of the house instead of on the street. I guess there was some city code about it that we didn't know about. Long story short, ended up with a fine and can no longer park on the side of the house unless a slab of concrete gets laid down. I feel your pain man.

The only thing I can think of is if I was this guy , and I was sitting on my back porch relaxing, and some car was blasting smoke all over me, i'd be pretty pissed off too.
I agree that he's probably a pain in the ass, but people dont always look at both sides of the situation. And as far as those city codes are conerned, they just dont want people making a mess out of a neighborhood. I've lived in nice neighborhoods, and all the sudden you have "that *******" down the street that goes hunting and skins his deer carcas over his garage door, or the ******* that parks his busted up truck in his front yard and kills all his grass. It brings the value of my property down, and really PISSES ME OFF!!! I dont want to lose money on the sale of my house because some trailer trash reject got a home in my neighborhood and doesnt understand how to appriciate ****.
Dont get me wrong though, i'm all about shadetree mechanics. But put your car in the garage. If you dont have one, then get something so your neighbors dont have to look at your ass crack while your pulling spark plugs. haha. I love working on my Z, and I only take it to the shop if there's soemthing big that i cant handle. I just try to be considerate of my neighbors.

I work on my Z on the side of my house with a concrete slab under a 12x20 foot canopy and a fence on the side facing the street and my next door neighbor.
Hopefully, the 2 post lift will get bought early next year and I can start 'double' parking in the heated garage! Still need to buy the lift and the heater though... ;(
I think your neighbor was probably saying that shops can't replace engines and tranny's 'on the street' in front of their shops. They have to do the work on their property not on the public streets. If you do the work on your driveway, he probably won't have a legitimate complaint.
Anyway, your neighbor is a retard. Find something he's doing and start complaining to the city about it. See how he likes it. And if you need help, let me know, I'm only a 45 minute drive from Sac. I'm sure we can come up with some way to prank him and make his life miserable! :)

but in all respect, you gotta live with your neighbors. I have learned from past experience to just ignore them and not cause trouble cause they will retaliate at some point whether on you or your property when you least expect it. I only take matters further if they actually keep bugging me. They can call the police and sort it out with them, but when they pursue a more personal approach with me its gonna get messy.
If they are polite and cool like past above commented im cool with that and will keep neutral on the matter. Most of my neighbors are now cool and we drove the one family out that constantly was a PITA with everyone and they sold their house.

When I hear people say I'm going to shoot somebody over an agruement that has gotta be about the most retarded thing stated on this board.

This is why I'm a police caller. Between boxing, martial arts, and just the everyday fights on the street until I was about 25 I've done enough of that. If someone comes on my property with a complaint, I simply tell them here's the number to the HOA and I will take it up with them.

Someone keeps calling the city on the cars in the street - I'm always finding chalk arrows on the tires - I move the cars around and get no citations.

Run seafoam about 30 mins before sun down.
Let it sit till its pretty dark.
Turn it back on and drive the piss out of it on nearby low traffic roads.

Environmental laws are there to protect everyone. You should feel most fortunate indeed to live in a society that enshrines environmental values in law. If you are breaking those laws YOU are the dumb ass and your neighbor is to be applauded.
Trailer trash is trailer trash... every neighborhood has some... just cause you have money doesn't mean sphit... we have convenents in our area restricting number of cars allowed, no boats in driveways, can't hang the laundry outside, etc etc. Average house price = $800K. Invariably there are a few idots that buy here but don't want to live by the local rules... they usually get tuned up pretty quick. Renters are the worst cause they have little invested.
I hang my deer in the back yard, butcher them in the garage but it is all private and out of view. I also park cars on the driveway and street (cul de sac) but I don't work on them on the driveway and certainly wouldn't use air tools or fire up mini-propulsion jets, or fire off gnome launchers, or turn the stereo up to ten past 8pm. Have a little respect for others and you won't have to shoot them!

That is a retarded story. It reminds me of this old lady that used to live across the street from me. She called the police and got me fined for parking on my lawn. We had a small house and between my roommates and I there was 5 cars and a driveway that could accomodate 2. So when the police came over about my parking on the grass, they also felt it was necessary to fine us for the dead tree in the front yard that was there when we moved in, as well as for the dead grass in the backyard... also dead when we moved in.
The previous occupants never paid for irrigation and the whole yard died. The home owners obviously didn't give a ****, and we ended up getting hassled over the whole thing because we were young. It ended up costing the owner like $2500 to clean the place up, but we almost had to sue her to get her pay for it. She thought it was our responsibility.

My yard is 10 acres, and my next door neigbors are 1/4 mile to the North, and a 1/4 mile to the South. I have a wonderful farming couple across the road that farms about 2000 acres all around us. I couldn't imagine living in the "burbs" where unstable, disfunctional families take out thier fustrations on unsuspecting neigbors with no apparent guilt.

I'm one of those guys that when somone kindly asks me to do something. I usually comply without any problems. If someone comes out yelling or screaming or goes behind my back, I do what I can to piss them, off. I know it may not be the way to go about it, but all they have to do is ask me nicely and there never is a problem.
I had my z parked across the street from my house for 2 days (since I'd been dring my truck to work as I was hauling tools back and forth for those 2 days). I get a notice on my windshield that says my car needs moved or I'll be fined. So I call the phone number on the orange tag and talk to the police. They said that someone had complained (obviously the neighbors house that I was parked infront of) and they siad I simply need to move it atleast every 48 hours, even if it's only a foot forward or backwards. So you guessed it. For 2 weeks straight I moved it back and forth and kept driving my truck to work. The old man could've come up to my house and asked me to move it, and I would've. Infact I saw the tag on the windshield when I was getting ready to pull it back in the garage. But if you take the gutless way and go behind my back, then I'll deal with you as I see fit.
Now, back on the original topic...you know your neighbor doesn't like you, so don't feed him anymore than needed. He can cause you quite a bit of trouble...after all you're living in the nazi state of cali....
Another time I was loading my car up in the enclosed trailer and we had it parked on the street in fron of my house. I got the car pulled up in there and we couldn't see very well to strap it down and so my buddy pulled his car in behind the trailer (which happened to be in front of the next door neighbors house) and left it running while the headlights were shinning in the trailer. Less than 2 minutes later the neighbor lady comes out yelling that she doesn't hear very well and she can't watch her TV show and we need to turn off the @#$ @#$% car. The car isn't even loud. Its a turbo dodge spirit running full exhaust and muffler. If we wanted it loud we would've opend the exhaust cut-out. Once again, if she would've been civil we would've tried to help her out. We calmly told her we were almost done and we'd have the car shut off within 5 minutes. That wasn't good enough for here and she kept screaming...so we chose to ignore her. It wasn't even 8pm yet...
On a side note, I'm a home owner as well and understand the property value concern that some people have, but I believe some people are way too worried about why the neighbors hood is open. I don't like the parking in the front yard thing either, but I do park in the back yard on the grass. When you've got a fleet of cars, you've got to park them somewhere. Just don't be lazy and mow around them, move them each and every time. If it won't start, push it.

We only have a few acres, but the farm across the road is a "hobby farm" and is about 300 acres. It is covered with old trails and scenic bluffs. It was great for riding dirt bikes & ATV's when the boys were younger. Now that the boys are grown, me and Tee ride her horses and go for walks. Behind us is another 150 acres, mostly wooded farmland of an old retired couple who no longer use the land. We do have neighbors on the left and right. One set are workaholic business owners who spend all of their time at the TCBY and Accounting firm. The other folks drive a rig they own as a couple and see the country. I will bet we don't see any of them more than 5 or 6 times a year. Even then it is just a simple hand wave and "hello, good to see ya".
We do and have done just about anything we want here for the last 12 years. We let our boys be boys growing up and we try to enjoy life at it's fullest. Keep in mind, even though we don't have close neighbors, we have always respected the land around us and asked owners permission before doing anything we thought might cause an issue. The land owners around us have always treated us like family and even have told us not to bother asking, just treat the place like your own. Giving respect will always earn respect.
Yes, life is good and we plan on being buried here.

I live in a semi-country area. Farms, developments etc. I have a neighbor that complained to me wondering when I was going to cut down the weeds in the ditch in front of my house. Her husband is retired and keeps theirs mowed. I told her I was planning on doing it. But then I decided screw her telling me what to do. So I mowed all of it except for about 3 feet on the end that starts their property. And I let the **** grow. I even tossed fertilizer on it. Now on the other side I had a dumb ass who mowed his lawn like every two weeks. The grass would be 6-8 inches high and he's blowing it all into my yard. He loved to mow when it was wet. IF I didn't rake it up it would dry in a couple of days and my lawn would look like crap. So as soon as he'd finish I'd go out with my riding mower and blow it all back into his yard. Well he wasn't getting the hint. So I asked him to point his mower the other way whne he mowed. Trying to be subtle didn't work. I finally got pissed one weekend. I had just finished my lawn and went away for a couple of hours. He fired up his Sears and blew all his dead grass into my yard. I went ballistic. Carefully raked all of the grass up into my wheelbarrow and took it over and dumped it on his front porch right in front of his door. He was looking at me out his front window but didn't dare come outside. He never blew grass into my yard again.

I moved into a house that should rightly have been condemned, but its all that I could afford. The yard hadn't been maintained in 5 years. We did turn on irrigation and start bringing it back to life. I spent countless hours every week replacing windows, tearing out dead plants, fixing A/C, repairing leaking plumbing and taking out mold growing under the sinks.
I happened to get the police called for parking on my lawn after living there for three weeks. We hardly had any time to start cleaning sh*t up. It cost us $2700 to remove the dead trees and have them disposed of, and then we had to fight with the landlord to have it repaid since its her responsibility. I'm a starving college student with a car thats eating up all my funds, what do you expect me to do?
