Q:

Anyone here own one of the hatchback turbo models?
Thoughts? ideas?
I kinda like it and am going through another phase of thinking of purchasing something again.
G35coupe vs the mazda this time.

ARe you talking about the new one? I don't think it's out yet. It looks pretty good though with 260hp and awd.

Not awd unfortunately, fwd.
A:

It's got the Mazdaspeed 6 engine with a remapped control system that limits power in the first two gears to suppress torque steer. Personally, I'd have to drive it to believe it. If they would have put the AWD system from the 6 in it, I doubt it would be any more expensive than the WRX, and it would kill it. Personally, for the AWD, I'd take the WRX.

Yeah, it must be the new one and its fwd.
After I spotted a used protege turbo speed touted as rare in the classifieds this sparked my interest. The same day I spotted a protege on the hwy so I started browsing when I got home. Its lightweight too but wont make my wallet as light as a g35.
Those horsepower #s look good. I might just have to get a test drive.

the "wild child" in red is better looking than the subaru wagon,
last time I was comparing the subarus to the g35 I heard too many subaru warranty complaints to look any further.... the awd is something that would be nice to have .

Well justinrhenry or should we say 72n03Z, in the bang for the buck category it's better than the G35.

you see the magazine with the 150 mph tops speed?..it better whoop on the srt-4..beat that damn neon DOWN!

A:

I wouldnt compare the two as apples to apples. Id probably have to settle for a used g35 because of the cost. If I drove the mazda and liked it I could afford to order a new one just the way I liked it. Bang for the buck is very important but so is quality. 0-60 <6seconds, top speed of 154.5mph, hmm and the interior looks really good.
Jury is still out on this one.

sorry norm.. you're wrong. 72 does that thing where he starts his reply in the subject and i think he's a tad more mean spirited than me, but i suppose you can think whatever you'd like.
besides, my 240 is a 1973 and my 350 is a 2005.

I have suspected you both were one and the same for months, but your response to my post last week was all the proof I needed.
And now you just screwed up and verified it.

72n03Zs has a 2003 350Z, while justinrhenry has a 2005 350Z. Is the deception really that deep, or are we fishing for intrigue?

norm, that would be split or multiple personalities, not bipolar. bipolar just means you're really happy sometimes and really sad other times.

so anyway, this is a quick little car.
263hp
3183lbs
280lb-ft torque
but, and this is a big but, it's way ugly with the 4 door hatch back. if all you care about is speed and price then this is a great little car.
