Q:
Got a problem - Jeanne (She Who Must Be Obeyed) the wife, loves the Z's and is now always wanting me to drive her in the Z - BUT!
What to do with the Grandson?
I'm thinking of getting a 2 + 2 to have room in the back for him.
Would a carrier rack be better on top or the back deck for looks? (regular Z)
Could you strap a child seat to a rear spoiler - aka modern rumble seat?
Which to worry about more; Department of Public Safety (Highway Patrol) or Child Protective Services?
Decisions decisions.
Grandchild or wife grandchild or wife.
Hey dear - we need another Z!

You could buy one of those little enclosed trailers motorcycles pull. Just be sure to stop every two hours or so and check on the litle rug rat.

I would have said put Jeanne in the trailer - but - for all the flack she has given me in 27 years: we were just given a 1st gen. 300ZX (in pieces) and the other day were in ZXena (2nd gen 300) and she said " I guess now we need to get a 240Z?"
My wife - Priceless!

I've heard of people getting a strut brace for the rear, and building mounting brackets to the floor and securing a child seat there, but don't know what to tell you about CPS or the Highway Patrol!
'73 Turbo, not much stock. Sold now... :-(

Fits fine in the buckets in back, or rearward facing in the front seat.
I don't much like the racks aero addition to the exterior of the Z---there is plenty of room for stuff inside with the back seat deployed. And with the seat folded down what you can haul is HUGE!
People Are Idiots, Just look around here and you will see!

I always thought about mounting the seat in the back as suggested by clutchman.

make a rear-facing low sitting seat and mount it in the hatch. The kids head would be inbetween your seats basically, and he'd have an interesting rear view while driving.

Definitely a quandry. I take it you're pretty attached to both of them? Sounds like 2+2 time. OR take the hatch off and put in a rear facing seat for the wife?
