i always told my passengers to do that but they also had to pull at shoulder height or it would lock up.

Anyone of my friends that doesn't own, or hasn't ridden in a Z I always have to tell them to pull slowly... They're always yankin' and yarding on that seat beat and are like "WTF?!"... Dumb.

I've done that before in other older cars, forgetting that they have that type of seatbelt but then I do pull slowly when I realize it's that type of seatbelt.
You guys are more courteous than I would be, I'd prolly sit back and let them figure it out for themselves, or tell them it's broken. LOL.

And when they finally get it out and buckle it they don't push hard enough and the belt pops off again.... Then they yank and yank some more

Soooo the pulling slowly thing is normal behavior?
I always have tell everyone to pull slowly it drives me crazy as the yank the hell out of the belt. I have always thought something was out of spec.

LOL! I remember goofing off with a friend one time, seeing which one of us could lean forward the fastest without getting caught!
My seat belt pops out sometimes too. Kind of makes me worried. :(
It's confusing driving several vehicles, each with their own kinks and nuances.

mine does it too....if you search the archives I remember a couple years ago there was a writeup on here about how to fix it. It involves the spring getting too weak over the years.
