Q:
Craigslist is weak down here, cars.com is weak, and the classifieds section here doesn't have too many z's popping up in SD. Basically I'm looking for a rust free 240z...doesn't matter if it runs or not...just looking for something to mess with over the winter. If the body is nice enough...it may get an L28et...Any suggestions on where to search?

go to collectorcartrader.com or ebay.i have a buddy here in san diego thats selling a yellow one on ebay.i think his price is a little high.but the car is straight and the motor is strong.if your looking for a fixer you may be hard pressed to find one cheap.considering people are thinking that the run down cars are worth more than they are.good luck!
Z's are like woman maintenance,maintenance,maintenance!

$1200 CA car + $800 shipping = less than you can find in TN. I did run up on a 1980 & about a 75 2+2 that may be for sale. The neighbor said they are for sale. I left my # & will post back if the guy calls.
Anyone can drive a new car.

Im from SD and I have soon to be 3 Z's. Lots of Z owner/seller here dont go to the internet and sell their cars. Try Autotrader, and also I know someone whose selling a rust free Arizona 260Z. Contact me if you are interested.

"SD" as in South Dakota or San Diego?
If it's San Diego, it shouldn't be too hard to find one in car crazy southern Calif. Just be patient and check ebay daily.
If it's South Dakota, then it is a problem. It's a sparsely populated state so naturally it's going to be hard to find a car as specific as a rust-free 240Z. You're going to have to expand the radius of your search to include other states and regions. Calif. and the desert southwest states are the best places to look. Be prepared to travel to another region of the country on short notice when the opportunity comes to buy one.

Why don't you try down by spellerburg park...?
I'm pretty sure there's a red 240z for sale about a block south, on Western...in Sioux Falls...
SD is south dakota?
A:

Totally rust free 1970s are not cheap, even with no engine or interior.
And if vin is under 500, dont even ask, they are rare and getting harder to
find eveyday. There are people who pay big bucks clean 70s, alot of people
selling there car say its rust free. But not at all.
Have a friend with 10 - 1970s all in perfect shape, kept in a controlled inviroment. Its like a Museum, most with very low mileage.

I'm not looking for an early production 70...I am just looking for something to mess with over the winter...I've had 4 240z's in the past 3 years so I know what I'm getting into and what to look for. I'm just wondering if there's a decent 240 laying around somewhere in San Diego that someone is willing to let go semi-cheap. Ideally I'd love to find one non running for <1000 in ok shape.
