Parked the Z (just in time, as snow was beginning in my area), but the beater turned out to be a lot worse than it was made out to be. On the phone: "It runs great!" In person: Stalls out whilst idling, doesnt accelerate above 25 mph! Oh well, 250 dollar car produces 250 dollar problems, heh. The good news is that there is a 500 dollar one that's definitely worth the money, so I get to go back to Greenville, Michigan, AGAIN this weekend. Coming from the Battle Creek/Jackson Michigan area, that's saying a lot (about an hour and a half) for a beater. Tough luck I guess. Luckily, I was able to persuade my girlfriend's mom to let me borrow one of their vehicles..lucky me! The same girlfriend who's garage i'm using (6 car!)...ah well, at least the Z is safe from the satanic powder that comes during winter.

I got an '87 Saab 9000 Turbo last fall for a winter beater. It was a really nice car! It had a few problems, but I figured I could fix them. And the price was unbeatable: $650 for a rare semi-luxury sport sedan.
It lasted a month, then the tranny completly died (i.e. metal flakes on dipstick). I could have replaced the tranny, but with the way I drive, it would have died again. And then what else would go wrong that would require expensive Swedish parts?
At least you only gambled $250!

You're storing a soon to be classic car. It's not like you're puitting the wife/girlfriend away for the winter. Maybe it'll give you more time with the lady.. Hint Hint... It's getting colder, and you might get laid more often now. It's a car!! lol..
