Doesn't look like a POS to me? Looks like some rust repair and a good paint job would do it good? Smokes up the tires so it can't run all that bad? Did you have a tire blowout? In the second pic it looks like the spare is on but the rest have a tire with a mag wheel? Do they charge you to drive in that area? Never heard of any places around where I live that have a nice setup like that to have fun with a car. Must be nice to be able to do that kind of stuff without the LAW after you!
Best of luck...

Looks like a lot of fun, I guess you needed to switch back wheels during the event!
Yeah, that guy on the bike needs to pick up his speed if he's gonna get in a good drift.

hey, thanks for the comments guys. the first two pictures were at ddnorcal3 and the rest were at a scca drift practice event. at ddnorcal i went through 16! rear tires and 2 front tires, at the scca event i just went through 4 rears. ill just list the mods!
Engine:
-Z therapy 3 screw overbored s.u.'s.
-280zx distributor.
-msd 6al box.
-some fancy msd coil.
-some 8mm taylor wires.
-the spark plugs are out of some random car that i did a tuneup on.
-got rid of the stupid mechanical fan, have two fans on it from some late 70's honda civics.
-fuel filter from some old ass ford escort
-run fully synthetic motor oil that i get USED!! out of peoples mercedes benzes and shit who change it at 3000 miles lol.
-i run a huge oil filter that i can only get from this one supplyer, its as big as those diesel filters but is a HKS or something.
Exhuast:
-stock warped exhaust manifold to motorsport downpipe and 2.5 inch mandrel bent exhaust.
-muffler is some straight through pos that makes it sound like a nascar
-the exhaust scapes so bad that i have to use like copper wiring to hold it up in some places.
Transmission/Drivetrain
-stock 4 speed trans that grinds if i dont rev match it
-stock 3.36 r180 that starts to smoke 15 minutes into a race
-no lsd, i dont need to have one to get sideways
-centerforce 2 pressure plate with heavyer weights, and a carbon metallic clutch disk
Brakes
-stock, except for organics all around :)
Suspension
-Motorsport front and rear strut bar braces
-suspention tech front and rear sway bars
-Ground control coilovers
-shortened strut housings
-running tociko illumina 5-ways front and rear
-225 lb and 250 lb springs
-scca ITS legal front camber plates and front camber bushings
-i dont need and camber in the rear because i have too much already
-i also strengthened the mounting on the front swaybar by running bar stock down the frame rails
-polyurethane bushings all around
-tons and tons of different wheels and tires.
Body/Interior
-some front air damn painted day glo orange
-fibreglass front bumper (had to because i have a road racing accedent that ripped off the front valence and bumper)
- a **** load of rust that i repaired and some body damage from bumping around in road racing
-some 40 dollar ebay special racing seat
-some motorsport steering wheel
-stripped out the rest of the interior
-still has a fancy stereo and the heat works
-going to be installing roll cage and harness soon.
i think thats about it for mods.

Dude that is hilarious, you use used motor oil and filters? I'm still shaking my head. Surprisingly though, your suspension sounds almost identical to mine, very cool.
'73 Turbo, not much stock. Sold now... :-(
A:
well its synthetic oil that supposed to last 15,000 miles. and they change it at 3000, the filter is a brand new racing filter from HKS.
A:
Looks like you had alot of fun, but sideways isn't really the fast way around an autoX course
Black, bumperless, 78 Z with MSA superturbo system, K/N cone filter, ported intake, and exhaust manifolds.....15.9 @87 mph.
A:
Gotta start somewhere. Looks like you had fun.
A:
too bad its not autocross, lol. i have placed 1st in many autox's. i have been doing that for ohhhhhhh 3 or more years now. those were some drifting events that i went to a while ago.

Haha solid picts Oliver. Is your Z still stuck in California?
I'll probably end up with Z number 5 in the near future since I'm going through withdrawal here without one...so we'll have to go for a drive...maybe briones or canyon.
