i missed the comments...that would be a crazy ride if it fit though.
A:

I think it could fit with fabrication and sacrifice, the LS1 guys say it cannot though fairly confidently. All in all, a modded/cammed LS1 with good highend wouldn't take too much away from the car, and probably only weighs a 100lbs or less more. Not to mention I'm sure you'd have to pull some accessories like a/c, pwr str, etc., to make it fit anyhow.

A:

So who was number 12 to reply.
A:

why the hell do people insist on putting a damn LS1 in cars like RX 7's!
A:

You obviously haven't owned a 3rd gen. I can see a lot of reasons why.

RX-7 is a very well balanced car and also lightweight; Edmunds has it at 2826 pounds curb. Put in a motor like the LS1, and the power to weight ratio makes it uber fun.
But as for the S2000 with the LS1, it will be a real tight fit if at all.

Ive seen the full video to that ..it does not have the ls1 it has ITB's and other bolt ons...its not supercharged, but its still fast...

The FD is actually lighter by about 110 lbs in every form than the given, the insurance rates would fall into another catagory so they made the already very high to insure car a little more bearable. I've seen full interior FD's with just lighter aftermarket parts in the 2500's.

Well the point was to show a RX-7 with a V-8, LS-1 or not, it is gonna be fun, unless you chose very poorly.
