Hey phil, got up to put another log in the wood boiler.
Yup, I love it, free heat, well not reallyfree, lets see, log splitter, 4 chain saws, pick up truck, parts, extra chains, time, etc...
This old house used to eat 5 or 6 - 275 gal. tanks of oil per season. I put in the wood boiler which has controls to the furnace, wood runs out, furnace kicks in. Also replumbed to seperate zones, I am glad I did as the house is very comfortable now and much uses less fuel. I went out to dinner tonight, my nephew is in town on Air Force leave, it was great to see him. He flys the C-17. ........

LOL you just got the wood stove so that you could check this site all through the night hehehe.
Glad your stove is working great. My father in law burns wood for heat. I alway laugh because he is a fire fighter of 40 years and a pyro. Chopping and carrying that stuff keeps you healthy for sure.
That plane looks like it could consume your winter's heating oil in 1 hr! Must be a blast to fly in.

My nephew sure grew up in a hurry after going into the USAF. I tried to talk him out of joining but it it was right for him I guess. none the less; I am very proud of him. with all of this crap going on in the world I worry a lot about all of his flights into the middle east. I agree, what a big waste of fuel this has been.

I live in NW Ohio and the furnace has absolutely not come on yet this season (usually from Oct 1 to about May 1). I have a big airtight stove that just lumbers along and keeps the house about 76 degrees with 3 small arm loads a day in this 40-45 degree weather.
The previous owner burnt 2100 gallons of propane ($3000 -$4000 at current prices) through the system the season before we moved in, and i'm sure was not as comfortable.
Black, bumperless, 78 Z with MSA superturbo system, K/N cone filter, ported intake, and exhaust manifolds.....15.9 @87 mph.
