Q:
I am selling my Z and I got this suspicious e-mail, but I can't really decide if it is because the respondant is persistant and semi-convincing.
#1:
ME: I saw an e-mail pasted on the forums that looked
suspiciously like yours, can you explaint that?
HIM: No is not my email you saw okay.
HIM: Thanks for the mail, I am okay with the price of the said item,My mode of payment will be Cashier's Check Or A Money Order. So i have a Business Associates over there in the States that will send you the check of $6,500. So all i want you to do now is to recieve this Payment from my Business Associates and deduct your selling price from the funds and then send the remaining excess funds to the Shipping Company.*
*You are not to worry about Shipping, I have a reputable Shipping Company that i have been using for long now, so i am sure they will Ship the Item right to the destination i want it shipped. Also they have got a lot in the states and also in Europe to ship ship for me.The remaining excess funds should be sent to the Shipping Company via Western Union Money Transfer and the charges to get Funds transfered to them should be deduct from the excess funds you are sending to them ( Shipping Company).
For this i am compesating you with the sum of $100,so the total amount will be $3,100. If you are ready to transact with me, Which i believe you will certainly do, i will want you to provide me with the following details needed for the Payment to get to you:
NAME YOU WANT THE CHECK TO BEAR:....................
ADDRESS YOU WANT THE PAYMENT SENT TOO.............
PHONE NUMBER:.................(Home,Work and
Cell)
Will await to read from you soonest with the details needed immeidately, so as to facilitate the pace of the transaction.
Thanks..............................*
ME: I do not accept money orders or cashier's checks,
only US postal service
money orders or cash.
HIM: Thanks for the mail,Okay us postal Money Order will be
okay by me so kindly get back to me with yuor full
details asap.
What a bugger! It sounds like a load of crap, but he is willing to send me 7 money orders. WTF?
A:

If you can't trust a Spanish used car dealer with an English sir name using a Cameroon e-mail account, who can you trust?
A:
I have LOTS of these cashiers checks made out to "Dick Enmeround..." with all the items I have listed for sale...they never get it! LOL!
A:
Everyone who sells a car on the internet gets these. This scam has been around for years and I can't believe anyone is surprised by it anymore. I'd be even more surprised if anyone actually took the bait.

"Never been there, didn't do that."
"The harder you try, the dumber you look."
A:
The only payment you should except on any high $ item is cash or some kind of money transfer. All it takes is a good printer, a copy of the money order, and bam instant fake.
Progress:
Z32 Had to sell for DD 06 Sentra :(
S30 one of these days I will get around to putting it all back together.

It seems that there needs to be some sort of secure login which requires some form of confirmed I.D for the classified access to help prevent these types of things.
A:
A secure login to the classifieds will limit how many potential buyers will see our adds.

They'd still be able to view ads, just have to register or something to contact like ebay etc. If people are serious about buying taking 2 seconds to register to contact someone isnt too hard. Just a thought anyway...
