Good.

I find that site you linked comical. "No Spin" it claims. The "facts" as they are presented show an incredible bias for GM. The guy claims that GM has a product line that is bringing them back into the forefront. Anyone here seen the new cars? About a bland and uninspiring as can be done. They should give their cars names like the "Generic" or the "Yawn". I have a hard time believing that anyone is spending $50k on the new Escalade. And as for the yahoo that runs the autoextremist site, I sincerely hope his rose colored glasses still work when GM turns out the lights.

I've known the "yahoo" that runs that site for a while (Peter D'Lorenzo). Take the time and read the other articles and you'll realize he is not a fan of GM at all. He's also been right-on regarding GM and Ford's recent problems and we should pay attention to what he's saying about Ghosen and Nissan. Don't judge Autoextremist by one article you don't happen to agree with.

well, no, we shouldnt judge the author by one article, but some of the stuff he says is RIDICULIOUS. GM lost, what 10.2 billion last year? and nissan MADE money, but the deal would be more beneficial to nissan than it would to GM? how does THAT work?
Im glad it didnt go through. nissan already got a bad enough rap for the altima interiors being plasticky, imagine what would have happened had GM gotten thier crappy little hands on ANYTHIGN nissan.

1980 280zx with a mildly ported N47 maxima head, 60mm TB, -C- stamp 256 degree camshaft, and a 2.5inch mandrel bent exhaust. yeah, its quick, and yeah, its a 2+2. NOW with MSandS_E power!

1.Production capacity without building expensive new facilities.
2.Sharing of parts components; GM still has captive divisions that produce parts Nissan / Renault can use at a favorable price.
Look at what the current 'partnership' has wrought:
Nissan Versa
Renault Megane

With the exception of a few engines and the vette, I don't see any reason to stop at a chevy dealership.
A:
I dunno, the Chevy model of a Nissan / Renault / GM shared platform would certainly have more cup holders!
A:
GMs problems have alot to do with expensive retirement and medical expenses coming off the top of their bottom line.
Cars are cars.... When it comes to daily drivers, six of one half dozen of the other....crank, run, get me where i need to go and back......done. I could care less who made it.

Please also add that GM still has too many divisions, even with the killing of Oldsmobile in the past, producing too much of the same thing.
If you are accepting of point A to B cars then you will be happy as fewer and fewer players are in the field and every car becomes a "Yawn".
More sizzle, less steak as the competition dwindles and all the money flows off shore to places like China.
Wait...that's already happening!
(Chinese company is planning on making MG's in Oklahoma)
But will they get you where you want to go?
Next stop: Renault/Nissan/Ford.
Will Billy Clay Ford be able to privatize it before the Kerkorians of the world force a fire sale?
Ford offers exactly the same incentives to Carlos as GM but at a more boutique level. And they win races worldwide, just like Renault.
