Maybe 3G when you hit a wall... but I seriously doubt they get a turning skidpad of 3.0 g. The physics of it generally prevent in excess of 1.1g, much less three times that.

Yah, the Atom is another nice one, more affordable!

3 g's was for acceleration and stopping, not turning.

thats crazy, 3g's is equal to 22 mph/sec i cant even imagine that kind of acceleration

Indy and F1 cars easily pull over 1.1g in turns. This car looks like an indy car in sheeps clothing.

I'll say it looks like a hotwheel, but i want 5 of them.

It was on Top Gear. They didn't drive it but it was pretty crazy looking. I'd rather have a zonda or something.

Formula 1 cars pull far more than 1.1g in sweeping corners. At Silverstone this year someone set the highest lateral g record for F1 cars, I can't remember the number exactly but it was in the 2.5g range. Skidpad numbers are recorded on a 300 foot radius circle, and the values are averaged. That has nothing to do with real world lateral acceleration in road racing.

nice car i was looking at the new one on the front of dupont registry its called the ssc v8tt 1180 bhp 0-60 in 2.8 quarter mile in 9.9 @ 144mph and topp end at a blistering 273mph incredible and yes expensive at $585,000 (the 273 mph mark is said to be tested in gremany next may.) cant wait to see this one. you can look at on www.sscautos.com

cmcniel, you are grossly underestimating the lateral g's involved in F1. Indycars may only do 1.5 or 2 g's only on left turns ;) but the highest lateral g's are involved at Suzuka (turn 130R achieves 4 G's) and at Silverstone (Maggots can reach around 3.5 G's)
My favourite corner (or corners) are at Silverstone where you go through Maggots and Becketts at speed.
Im not trying to be stickly, but when you think of it; a 600kg car exerts approx 1200kg to the ground at 160kph. So, going through a turn at 300kph you should have an ass load of downforce keeping the miniscule 600kgs on the road
It should be no suprise then that these cars can race on modern tracks that have numerous 3+ G turns.
A:
That is true, it may not do 3g's on a skidpad but that is because it has no downforce.
Like a F1 car it needs higher speeds to generate the downforce and start to pull more than 1.2 g's that it could at the lower speeds. And if I am not mistaken the magic number is 150 mph where F1 cars exert more downforce than they weigh. 4g's plus is correct for F1.

without looking at the site id say the first one has a hayabusa engine to get them times.
That second one is a pic at pukekohe raceway in New Zealand, not sure where the car is built though.
