Q:
Well after messing with a Dodge Neon 2.0L for a couple days I figured that the injector is good, but the spark plug wire (new from Autozone) was bad.
How did I come to this? Well when I swapped the 1 cylinder wire with the 4 cylinder wire the 1 cylinder came up with a p-code.
All of that and all it would take is a replacement wire.
But here's my question. Why won't the car start now. The car would start fine before and now all I get is a nice poping sound when trying to get the damn thing to turn over. Can't be the starter or coil because I wouldn't get a pop at all if that was the case. All I can think of is maybe the car is flooded with gas now and I have to clear it out.
What would be the best method for this? Disconnect the fuel pump power/ fuse and turn it over a couple times?
What would make the poping sounds? Basically it sounds like someone is getting the crap kicked out of them or a kung fu movie. Never heard a sound like that from an engine ever!

To clarify by the way, it's not a tick, thunk, ting, ping, it's a pop. Like the sound you hear when making pop corn.

Well since nobody feels the need to respond or does not know the answer I think I will answer it for future EFI owners.
I think I have found the resolution to my problem. The injector is more then likely stuck open. Thus the reason I'm having the issue. Fuel pressure is being lost to the other injectors from this and cylinder 4 is getting filled with fuel 100% of the time. Lastly this is the reason my muffler is not dripping from Gas :)
Anyone else think I answered my own question ;)

I think you need to check your firing order again. Sounds more like you're a plug off all the way around.

Actually there is only one way to place the Coil & Wires on a Neon. It's a dumby proof firing order and there is almost no way you can mess it up, unless you place the bottom Coil connected to the outer cylinders, but then you would really look like a moron because the numbers are on the OEM coil. Not to mention if all of the orders where messed up then I would get totaly nothing. Right now it turns over and when you lift each plug wire off of the plug you will see a noticeable enging problem, when you do that with the forth you get nothing so everything that could be wrong would have to revolve around either the 4 th cylinder injector or plug. O yeah and I get a P0204 not a P0201, P0202, or P0201 and never have.
