Q:
Mr. 240z seller, was nice to talk to you for a few minutes yesterday about your car for sale. But I wanted to point out a few things about your "at least 6k" sale price.
1. You cant always rely on your car being a "classic" and justify your price when your car looks like hell.
2. Rust is not a good selling point, its prolly not the best idea to say "Hey, all that rust just shows how old this car is and how much of a classic it is".
3. Original paint is nice, but not when half of it is flaking off and the other half is bubbling over from the rust.
4. Try to at least know which year your car is, it helps when selling.
5. Saying a car has gone thru a major restoration does not mean putting bumpers from another car on it.
6. Restoring a car does not mean putting Autozone mirrors, wipers, antenna on it.
7. Those later year S.U.s are nice for keeping the car stock, but I have a hard time listening to the motor if the car wont start.
8. Saying "These tires still have some tread on them", to me that means "These tires are shot and would be the first thing I need to replace"
9. When the hood is not sealed straight and one fender looks crooked, you should say "I think it was in an accident before, Im just not sure of the extent of the damage". Saying it was never in any wreck is boggling.
10. Putting other seats in the car is not bad I guess, just make sure they are actually bolted down to the car.
11. Dont spray the sideskirts with Rustoleum black paint to cover up the rust and damage. Ill find it.
12. 280z emblems dont belong on a 240z, ever. Guess those were the only ones you could find at a junkyard, should of just put some Honda emblems on the car.
13. Gluing rubber strips onto your bumpers to resemble original rubber just dont look right.
14. Care to explain why your driving the car around with old tags? Ill take a wild guess and think its emissions.
15. If your showing a car to someone, maybe pop the hood first before I arrive so you dont have to wedge a screwdriver down in it and pop it open in front of me.
16. Just because the odometer shows 56k miles, your car for sale that looks like it could of drove to the moon and back surely has more.
17. Dice hanging from the mirror turns most people off.

In Denver, no site or nothing like that, just saw the car at a store with a for sale sign and decided to call him up to check. The guys name was Darrel and he said he had extensive knowledge of how much these cars are worth. Said he would drop the price by 100 bucks if he was able to keep his dangly doo dice ;).
A:
HAHAHA! What a joke. You should have told him he should pay you to take it.

The whole time I was looking at the car I was thinking, OK I need to reverse this damage and replace this crap, instead of thinking things were actually nice. Just thought Id put this up because as I drove home after looking at this car I couldnt help but think about the one I already have being restored. Was hilarious to actually here this guy saying this car was already restored. Hell I was just looking for another driver and I guess there would be no way that I could even drive that car in its condition, no matter if the wheels turned or not.
A:
i don't get people sometimes a car starts to become rare and suddenly they think there pile of crap is a gold mine.you here words like retore or concorse condition,or "for what it is".it just pisses me off.as much as i love these cars they'll never reach what the american classics are at right now.atleast not for a very long time.god what a retard was he missing his front teeth and married to his sister.

when i sell a car i list the price and pictures. if they dont like what they see in the pictures then they can go elsewhere. if they dont wanna pay my asking price they can go elsewhere. if they wanna lecture me on how my car doesnt add up to the asking price or whats actually on it they can go elsewhere. i can easily find a fool to buy any car in any condition at my asking price (its called ebay). ive sold more than one POS car for 5X whats its actually worth cause some field worker thought it looked cool.
