Hi folks,
Sometimes you have to try something to find it wasn't worth it. I wanted to mount a fire extinguisher somewhere in the front of the 77. I had mounted one in the back that I could reach but I liked the idea of one in front. I welded three pieces of stock together to form the new bracket which bolted under the front left bolt of the passenger seat. I can't bring myself to drill holes in the floorboards or transmission tunnel. After I got it done I decided I did not like it and decided to mount the extinguisher in front of the passenger seat. I don't mind drilling holes in the seat support as it is internal and not as subject to rust. Oh well, chalk it up to practice.
Thanks for looking.

Whats not to like? I think it is a cool looking custom peice. Any pictures of it with the fire extinguisher mounted to it?
Does the bracket not keep the extinnguisher secure enough?

280Z-hab,
The bracket is pretty hunky steel. I think it would keep is secure in a crash as much as mounting it to anything else would. If I were going to continue with the piece, I think I would run a support piece down from that little console bolt right above it. I don't know whether I'll keep it or not. Once my friend pointed out the seat support at the base of the front of the seat it all made better sense to put it there. However, with regard to the cool factor, it looks better hanging to the side of the trans tunnel. I don't have any pics but I taped it on one time and it did look good.
