General Chat

Q:

Hi again :)
I've been driving my new z for the last few weeks and I'm loving it! Everyone stares and wants a chat lol. Just this weekend I was at the car wash (we're on water restricitons here so I go there and spray it down and then wash it with all my stuff haha) and a guy in a new porsche pulled up beside me and said 'nice car' lol.
Anyway here are a few more pics. I'm going in a classic japanese show and shine here in Brisbane on the weekend so I'll take some descent pictures then and I'll find some locations and do some better photos sometime soon.
I'm still trying to save my pennies to do the engine, speaking of which does anyone know where in Australia i can get forged KA24E 240sx 89mm pistons (not dished) [which in australia will be 200sx im guessing]? How much should I be expecting to pay? Any links to online shops would be great :) Also if anyone has some l24 rods (or anything else needed for the stroker) that they want to part with cheap let me know ;)
And a couple of pics from before and the resto:

That is now my inspiration car. I love the color. I have been thinking about doing yellow. What color name/number is that? I love the yellow/chrome/black combination. Good job!

That airdam is the best looking one I've seen in a while. Where did you get it and what is it called?
The rest of the Z is Sweet too. When you get ready, I have several sets of 240 rods. I could probably be talked out of a set pretty cheap. Let me know.
Thanks,
Richard

chownc: awesome! see you there :)
senkyoshi: Paint Code: 231246 Giallo Granturismo Car: 200/2001 Maserati 3200 GT. The previous owner did alot of research on yellow cars before he picked it lol. I've noticed one of the new utes here in Aus (not sure if its the holden or ford, they all look the same) has a pretty nice/similar yellow aswell.
BURLEIGH: i'm not sure what the airdam is called but they seem to be pretty common here in Australia and it came with the car. My daily driver came with the exact same airdam aswell. I've been thinking about getting a mould of it, i know a boat builder who can make me one for a carton of beer ;)
Lenotonight: haha i didn't even notice it in the background, honestly there are so many **** ass commodores and falcons around that look just like every other model. The new monaro looks very similar to them all but just a little nicer. The monaro is still a dam nice car though. BTW I'm making shirts that say 'Be like every other #*@*, buy a commmodore' on the front with something about datsuns or z's on the back. Lol probably doesn't make since unless your an Aussie ;)
Datto240z: Yeah there have been a few people who don't like the rims, they might look a little tacky in the photos but dam they look good when they are shinning in the sun with the chrome and the yellow. I guess some people jsut want to see period wheels on the cars :)
280Zone: haha not sure, didn't ask the previous owner. Guess I'll have to leave the caravan and my wife beater at the trailer park ;)
and thanks to everyone else who complimented the car :D
I got a display thingy printed at work today to go with the car for the show, it was a little bit rushed so it could look a little better but it'll will do for now :)
