Took my 2005 Subaru forestor to the dealer to find a coolant leak and they said they couldn't find one even thought the coolant bottle is low and the car smells like coolant. I climbed under there today and took the belly pan off to find green all around my lower hose. Can't get much easier then that jjeeessshhh. What the f___ did they do , nothing i guess. Can't wait to go back monday and vent on these guys. And there attitude sucks too, so i will think my venting is justified.

i feel your pain.i have the same problem with the local honda dealership.every time i take the wifes van in for service they start going down the line of suggested repairs.i only take there if my regular mechanic can't work on it right then and there.they to sell on repairs you don't need.for example they suggested a throttle body chamber cleaning 145.00.my mechanic said it would take about five minutes and that he may just do it for nothing a little carb cleaner and done! prime example of total rip offs by the dealer.on top of that they do ****y work.

I think most dealerships believe that once they hand the keys over to the new owner, and start splitting up the profits, that their job is done. They don't want to use the manpower or shop space to deal with warrenty work.

Yeh, but what about repeat sales. I don't know how much money they make on warranty work but you think that good service might make a auto sale futher down the road.

Warranty work doesnt pay as much as customer pay work, the dealership selling another car down the road isnt exactly the mechanics first thought on the subject.
Unless it's a small dealer with a mechanic that is hurting for work, then it's a different story.

Warranty blows - you CAN NOT live off it. Not justifying the mechanic's actions, just venting, since everyone else is bitching about it. **** WARRANTY!
