I've never done such a thing but I do have a non-Z POS that only needs to live another year. This time nest year, I'll buy that 6-pack and invite some friends to watch the fireworks...

90 Camry LE: 18.3s 1/4 mile.
SO: The Regal.
Everyone else, the regal GS is a supercharged car!

1972 240z w/L28, tokico shocks and springs, and a 5 speed waiting. Also running high performance ultra mega blinker fluid, that's at least an extra 50hp to the wheels.
1987 Toyota Supra Turbo 5-speed. Belongs to me until my friend get's back from Iraq.
A:
Gee, I knew my Camry wasn't quick but.................
A:
The Buick will take it no problem. The GS is supercharged to something like 240HP and the Regal model is the "sporty" Buick. I have a non-supercharged 98 and it's pretty quick.

The Regal is not supercharged.
Regal - 170hp
Camry - 156hp
A:
Silver, what makes you think the regal is not supercharged? According to Wiki (which is usually pretty good about this stuff), the Regal GS IS supercharged in 95.

Keane, did you even read the Wiki article? Did anybody even try to check their 'facts'. The wiki article, along with every other article I've found about the Regal, clearly state that the Regal wasn't supercharged in '95.
A:
didnt start the charged 3800 till 96 or 97
pontiac grand prix gtp , chevy monte carlo ss charged, buick regal (dont know trim level model thing) all the same (pontiac bonevill ssei same motor dont know if its the same car)
buddies got a stock 96 or 97 grand prix gtp with a pully and he ran a 14.2 and it is a huge FF auto boat of a car - its a fun car if you like landcrusiers that only go strait

I hate those engines. My mom's 97 Buick Park Avenue Ultra has it, and even the smallest job is extremely difficult. Everything is fastened with Torx bolts and Torx studs. To change the belt on this car one must remove the engine mount, which necessitates removing the pressed-on power steering pump pulley and water pump pulley! And recently, the entire mount that the idler pulley for the supercharger belt is on COMPLETELY snapped off. No more supercharger, just a big slow car.

Hey trippint10, I have an 1997 SC Grand Prix GTP and I didn't have to remove anything to change either belt.
Oh yeah ,I shredded my idler pulley as well last month. And you're right, I had to go to the Dealer to borrow a skinnny enough wrench and torx socket to get that biatch off!!

Well, maybe the Pontiac is different, but I even called the dealership, and checked the Haynes manual, and both verified that the engine mount and power steering pump (or pulley) must be removed. Dealership recommended a piece of wood on a floor jack under the oil pan to hold the engine up once it was removed!
