Q:
I think anyone who has ever worked on a car for somebody else can relate to this guy's rant. Funny, but true stuff.

that is freakin awesome, i'm taking it to work tomorrow (nissan dealership)!!! i love the one about the doctor, anyone that has ever had to fix a rattle that you can't pinpoint will know. like this evening i had to fix a rattle in the dvd player/overhead console of an armada and it was pouring rain. not fun.

What in his post makes you think that??
I see nothing in his statements but the truth. I sold cars for almost 13 years and you wouldn't BELIEVE some of the SHITTY SMELLING cars that I had to get appraised.
How about cars with DOG **** on the rear seats. Cars with VOMIT on the seats. Oh and One Car had a broken BROOM HANDLE on the floor board with a bunch of condoms pulled over it!!! YUCK!!!
PEOPLE ARE NASTY CRITTERS!!!!!!!!

#8 to all the doctors that think they are far superior to normal people. just keep in mind that you had to study the human body, its been the same sense the 1st man thousands of years ago. and you still **** up.. i deal with a car that changes almost every year. so when we cant find your squeek or rattle that only happens when your doing 70 and changing lanes please understand that i cand drive the car at 70,change lanes, and be underneath your car to see wtf it is all at the same time... but im doing my best. and the good thing is..it wont kill you!!!
LOL.

I agree with most - especially the squeaks, though. Those things are a bitch and a half, and warranty doesn't pay sh!t for those. But it looks like he's a GM mechanic, so I feel even worse for him.

# 10 - To mechanic who just worked on my car & has now charged me $1000.00 over the estimate & the car is still not fixed, or has made up some lame excuse for new parts I don't need becasue he is to dumb or to dishonest to fix the problem don't feel angry or surprised when my tire iron meets the side of your skull.
This whole world smells bad, I'd buy another if I had

Gotta agree with norm on that one
Every job has it's downside, as much as I like working on my car I would never want to be a mechanic for those reason exactly! Very funny!

It's sad but true. Just think about all the used cars you've looked at, how many of them had to be cleaned for days before someone could sell it. It's sad to think that people just dont care about their cars anymore anything to just keep them running for the time being and never think about the future. I see it at work all the time, (advance auto), people come in and buy the cheapest part available cuase "i'm trading it in next week" or something to that effect. What about the next guy? It'd be better to just not do anything, the dealer would give them the same price for it regardless, and end up doing probably better work, hopefully not the cheapest but close. ..sigh.thats my rant...

a lot of the time buying the cheapest part has nothing to do with how you take care of your car. it has to do with the economy and the wages people are paid. if they didnt care about their cars they wouldnt be buying any parts cheap or not, they would just drive them into the ground and leave them where they died. if i made $250,000 a year i would put the most expensive best parts i could get on my cars. but i dont so often i shop at Advance auto or Auto zone where businesses and clerks sell apperant cheap parts .im sure not going to save up to buy the best wiper blades money can buy for my 1996 ford explorer!!!

I agree with zxtoy, but I don't think it always has anything to do with how little a person makes. My wife and I bring in a large chunk of money every month, but after the mortage payment and other bills I really don't have much left to spend on the best parts. As long as you maintain your car though, you should be able to anticipate when you're going to need to do repairs.

i agree with robrob, keeping an eye on the car and maintaining it will save tons of money in having to buy those parts so when something does break you can get something higher quality or from the dealer maybe. if i buy a cheap part to get me buy then it is just that, and if it lasts a lot longer than i expect, then i might buy that particular one again, if not then i can't get mad because i didn't sink the money into it. like for my brake and clutch hydraulics, i save the money and spend it on Nabco. good stuff. and yeah, nothing worse than crawling around the floor of a car and finding a dirty diaper staring at you under the seat. what slobs!

Poor[er] people are the ones that should be taking the best care of their cars. Clean it often, don't allow food in it, etc. It's the poor man's attitude that often brings him down regardless of his circumstances. I'm poor as $hit btw, but I'm in college and I keep excellent care of my investments because I can't afford NOT to.
That reminds me of people asking me about getting loans for cars, etc.
They say they *wish* they were rich like me to pay cash for their car, motorcycle, whatever. I say I can't finance because I'm too POOR to do it, as in I don't have thousands to give to a bank for no reason.

Holy cow, thats awesome!! I worked as a mechanic for 2 years, I wanted to snap and go off so many times like that!! I wish now that I would have.
I totally feel #4, I had a guy call in and wanted to know why his Dodge Neon's suspension was so crappy. When he came around the corner with it I thought it was a crappy lowering job. Until he got out of the car and the entire car lifted back up. The guy had to been at leat 350lbs. I have never had so much pity for a neon until that day.
