Please join me in wishing Mr. Yutaka Katayama, or as we know and love him as Mr. K, a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Mr K was born on September 15, 1909 (Japan date)
We owe him so much, it can never be repaid.

Ask yourself, "What would Mr. K do?", and the would will be a much better place!

He'd probably want to kick ROADBUSTER's ass for spamming every topic on every forum on the internet that has anything to do with Nissan, just like alot of other people want to do right now.

Without him we'd all have a lot more money in our pockets. But who needs that?
1972 240z w/L28, tokico shocks and springs, and a 5 speed waiting. Also running high performance ultra mega blinker fluid, that's at least an extra 50hp to the wheels.
1987 Toyota Supra Turbo 5-speed. Belongs to me until my friend get's back from Iraq.

Maybe you'd have the same financial situation and a much shittier car?

A Very Interesting story regarding MR K.
My friend and i went to the Z convention in 2002,i did not have a z-car them, but had a 1977 Kingcab truck.Anyway, i grabbed an ad from the 7o's depicting a Kingcab that looked exactly like my truck,so that Mr K would sign that one,and a week prior to that i bought an old 1973 Playboy magazine at a local swap meet, and found an ad for the 610 in it,so i thought i would grab that one as well.
As my turn came up i first hand him the Kingcab ad,and he signed it,no problem.I then ask him if he can sign one more ad,and as i hand him the magazine i don't want to show him that it's in a Playboy so i open it from the back and as he signed it he turned the pages toward the front and closed it RIGHT AT THE FRONT COVER WHERE IT SAYS THE NAME etc...You guys should have seen the brief silence ,and then his face turning slightly red and embarrased.I said"Mr K i only have this Playboy because of the 610 ad that is in it"He looked at me with a "Yeah right!" expression and signed my friends glovebox door.
SO IF MR K IS READING THIS,HAPPY BIRTHDAY,MAY YOU LIVE TO BE OVER 100 AND STILL HAVE YOUR SENSE OF HUMOR.

Mr. K had a sidekick that he traveled with, Mr. Sato. Sato-san and I became friends and I used to send him some pretty racey emails, (playboy style).
One day I get an email from Mr. K; " Why are you not sending me those emails too?"
He was added to the circle.
I think it may have been the circumstance of the encounter, not the content of the publication, that caused the response.
Mr. K is one of Japan's living treasures and one of the few I can call a real Car Guy.

During our Club Meeting at Inland Valley ZCC this past Tuesady (13th in Japan) we called Mr. K and the club as a group wished him a Happy Birthday.
