Velo Rossa S30 w/ BMW engine?

General Chat

Q:

I saw some preliminary pics of a guy who was dropping a [V10?] Beamer enine in a S30 kit car a while back [maybe from HybridZ.com]. Has anyone seen updates from this project? Just wondering. It looked really kickin.

If you go to Hybrid you will see the write up. It was a girl and she was using a BMW V12. Turned out pretty cool. I guess the engines are rather cheap considering. Sounds like a cool idea.

Someone from the Ontario Z Club had a Jag V-12 in one.
This whole world smells bad, I'd buy another if I had
back what I paid for another mother@#$%@# in a motorcade

Didn't they used to dump the Jag V12 in favor of a SBC in the late 70's and early 80's Jags? Talk about backwards, going to a horrible English V12 in a Z that was getting swapped for SBC's when there are tons of kits for SBC swaps into Z's!

Problems with the Jag V2 (as I remember) are easily corrected with todays ignition systems and EFI systems. Only down side would be the added weight.

I agree Hybrid, and the amount of fab required to get that 12 in there I'd rather have the SBC with the all the aftermarket available for it.

yes, the jag v12s suffered from a bad case of lucas "prince of darkness" electronics.
the single cammers could be bumped to be VERY potent!
