Q:
2 parts needed left for my restoration. New carpet and MSA style 2 body kit for my 83 2+2.
So on July 23 I call Jc Whitney and order a carpet for my 2+2. On the 4th, I received a carpet for a coupe. Sent it back.
Finally today (month later) I get my new carpet. Open it up.... same damn carpet I sent back to them. So now i'm aggravated because my lack of a carpet is stopping me from putting the interior back together.
Also arriving today was my body kit. Maybe this will make my day better. Open the box, and visually start matching up the parts to my car. the side skirts however, came up a few inches short. Sure enough, the invoice says they are for a coupe, even though my original order clearly states 2+2.
So now 2 months and countign with nothing accomplished on my car.
Aint it just so fun.

A simple way to fix the interior problem is to find a local shop and have them do it. You can probably find a good shop that will do it and install it for the same price as the kits you are trying to buy. I know when I was looking into it for my 280z it was the same price. Plus I've heard that the molded kits aren't always cut to fit and they require some messing around with.
As for your body kit issue, that sucks.

I installed a molded carpet kit. HARD as HELL! It looks nice though. DON'T FORGET some noise or heat padding or BOTH!! This is what really makes your Z "Lincoln Quiet." Norm K

Man you're on a streak of bad luck, maybe you should consider a coupe?
1972 240z w/L28, tokico shocks and springs, and a 5 speed waiting. Also running high performance ultra mega blinker fluid, that's at least an extra 50hp to the wheels.

For the body kit, if you can't get it straightened out. Find a local shop that does fiberglass work and just stretch the skirts (assuming the bumpers are still the same for a 2+2 vs. a coupe.

MSA called me back... they are sending the 2+2 side skirts, WITHOUT me returning the coupe ones.
So we will see if they send the right ones now.
