Will a stock corvette Z06 be faster than a LS7 powered 240z cause of its aerodynamics? or will it be slower cause of the weight..

It will be faster because of its weight and its aerodynamics and its 315 rubber out back.

I would say that with the right tires the Z will be quicker to say 150 but the aerodynamics of the vette will take over after that.

The Corvette will come steaming around the 240Z at around 120 because of it's superior aerodynamics.
Black, bumperless, 78 Z with MSA superturbo system, K/N cone filter, ported intake, and exhaust manifolds.....15.9 @87 mph.

Ask briann510 on here who is faster in a few scenerios as him and his son raced a few times in their 240z and Z06.
I believe they raced earlier this year from a dig and posted on here results with starts in every gear and different mph and top end as well (the 240z topped out around 145 I think).
A 240z with 500 hp is gonna have some traction issues, but will kick butt in the 1/4 but on the open road top end aerodynamics will be its downfall starting around 130 and its a brick in the wind above 140 or so and the Z06 will pass right on by.
I know he has also raced quite a few V8 Z cars (he races pretty much anyone, anywhere, anytime I guess) and even though most of them take him off the line, it doesnt last long as the speed increases and aerodynamics takes over with his hp its all over pretty fast by 3rd gear and once he hits 120 he just takes off.

Man I searched for a long time and finally found it, but it looks like it was edited and I dont see the actual comparison runs as it was posted before. Im pretty sure he got alot of flack for street racing and edited it some.
Look at one of his posts and email him off his website link and ask him directly for his Z06 vs 240z playing comparisons as I dont think he posts alot about street racing on here anymore. He's heavily into racing his Z06.
I hear they are in planning stages for a supercharged LS7 Z engine to put in their 240z now. Must be nice.
