Tony, if catch a glimpse of this, you may know of whom I speak of. "Meijer" carries for their name brand is made by Citco oil. They just happened to have that printed right on the back of their label. Funny though, they are changing labels and the newer style doesn't have that info. Just thought I'd share this for those that are in the Northern Mid-West areas.

You would be amazed to know what Petro Refinery makes what products for who....
Citgo, WESTERN HEMISPHERE OIL, 100% Non-Arab Content. Same for their gas. If some SOB tells me my SUV is a "Terrorist Support Vehicle" because of all the money I send to the Arabs while buying their gasoline, I am quick to point out I almost exclusively run Citgo Petrol in my personal vehicles.
I am one of the funny ones. Someone who actually DOES things out of principle, instead of just talk about it...

So Tony, Hugo Chávez is pro American now? Yea, that helps...LOL.

Hugo Chavez made me leave my hotel room at 0530 for a noon flight! Just because he was afraid someone was going to try an assissinate him on a historic battlefield during his appearance there. So instead he decided to block off downtown Caracas and make a nice Red and Gold Parade there, as well.
Hugo is duly elected, DEMOCRATICALLY. As long as he doesn't take steps to make himself "President for Life" I got ABSOLUTELY no problem with him. he is doing what he thinks is best for his country: giving away oil free to underdeveloped nationas surrounding him to hook them like a junkie, and curry favor in the latin american league.
No problem with him whatsoever.
His system, though will find it's natural end soon enough. Same as for his best buddy and pal Fidel, who happens to have all his boradcasts piped in to Venezuela so the people there can hear his "inspirational" and "revolutionary" message.
Castro was not freely elected. I say we whack him.
Hugo, on the other hand, was put there by the masses of ignorant proletariat voters who want big social programs.
Hugo gets to big for his britches, and the military will do what they have always done in Venezuela...
I don't sweat nothing about Hugo, he's a passing fad. Don't sweat him at all...

Elected or not, he's no better than any other foreign oil supplier. In fact, spending money at Citgo actually sends a HIGHER percentage of it directly to a foreign country hostile to the USA. Hardly a superior principle in action.
A:

I read some place he wants to cut back on american oil consumption, he sold a bunch of american citgo stations and a refinery.

I'm still shaking my head over the idiots in New Orleans who voted for the same crook of a Mayor that got them in trouble by diverting funds from fixing the levees and then couldn't manage his way out of a wet paperbag after Katrina.
I'm not worried either - in the end - no matter what form of government - the money will talk no matter who is in charge.
I used to live on principle too - but with inflation and interest on my debt - I'll buy what I can afford.

I'm still shaking my head over calling Chavez "elected". So is Castro but that does not mean that their policies are anywhere near pro-USA or any better than OPEC leaders. The very idea that buying non-Arab oil by going to Chavez is somehow better for America is completely unreasonable.
