I should have won the award for most visible primer.... That was fun though. Too bad your clutch was giving up Roman. Glad to hear you got the new one in and going. I didn't mean to make you drive all the way to my house for the wrong flywheel....

It is not a problem. It all worked out in the end. I am still wondering how that 240mm got in that 280z?

AAAAaaaah,
I was at my sister's in Michigan for a week and was a short distance from the cruise. I had to drive to Pa. for the weekend and missed it. Never saw so many beautiful at one time. Just to see what was driving around in town was a treat. Thanks for the posts. Nice cars.

Who's orange Z Roman? What about the silver '77-'78 that is just barely in one pic?
BTW, I found the owner of the '77 2+2 in Northville. It turns out that he bought the car new in '77 and it only has 60,000 original miles. He is actually trying to sell it. If anybody is looking for a clean 2+2, let me know and I'll track him down.

The orange one belongs to the old president of the Detoit Z club. He has moved to SC, but came up for the show. He's a really nice guy and the car is nice as well.
The silver one belongs to a guy from Novi I think. It's a beautiful car. Garage queen, but still in near showroom condition. The interior is perfect, not cracks in the dash, just clean. It is for sale I guess. He had a sign in it for $9500 I think. It was a very nice looking car. That was why they put my primer-mobile at the end of the line....

Cool. Thanks for the info Jason. I forgot that Robert was in town. Is the Novi guy in our club? I don't remember ever seeing anything about him or the car. If he's in Novi, we're practically neighbors.
Just when you think there are only a handful of cars in the area, they start appearing everywhere.
Are you going to the meeting on Sunday? Hopefully it won't rain. Right now, the forcast is rain all weekend. My Z will have to stay in the garage if it's not dry. There are too many things unprotected right now to be out in crappy weather. My wipers barely work too, which won't help. I need to take them apart to clean and lubricate the linkage.

Sunday? I thought it was Saturday the 16th? I will be in Frankenmuth all weekend at the Autofest this weekend. I am hoping to make it to the meeting/cruise on the 16th though. Might have my car in a few less colors by then too.

Sorry, my bad. We have an officer's meeting this Saturday and the regular meeting NEXT Sunday. I got the two confused.
My hood is still green with some primer spots. Maybe I'll hit it with flat black in the next week. It would have to be better than what it looks like now.

:-) I have it on my calendar at home, but I have a terrible memory. I'll just drive around metro Dtroit for the next two weekends and look for Z cars. Maybe I'll find you. LOL.

The silver Z belongs to Dan Lenzi and yes he is an active member of the club. His car won People's Choice; Robert won Best Show.
Now that I've got some pictures, they'll be up tonight on our site.

Eventually I will edit the photos I took. But as I just blew a big wad of cash on a new used car paying gigs are getting priority.

Oh, I get it. Think of yourself first and leave us fellow Z club members out on a limb, huh. I see how it goes now. :)
Really, what's more imporant - money or Z's? C'mon, no braner here.

Thinking of me? Forget that. I'm thinking of the bill collectors, that way they won't be thinking of me.

I am sorry i didnt get a pic of the Silver 280z, i really dont know why i didnt. It was one of the prettiest cars there, well next to my junk at least. Anyways, i am pumped for saturdays meeting and cruise, now that my car is running well. I am having a small electrical problem that seems to solve it self over night, so it is hard to trouble shoot it. Damn Zs! Damn fusible links. Anyone know of a good alternative to fusible links. I remember reading something for 280Zs to swap in, but now for ZXs. I would like to get rid of those things period.

"Small electrical problem that seems to solve itself overnight" eh? Sounds to me like someone has a shorting problem, and most likely a problem caused by cracked jacketing on the wire, when it heats, it expands, opening the crack, shorting out the wire. Then when it sits it cools down, closing the crack, fixing the problem.
