Made the 1500 mile trip

Hey guys! I'm happy to report thai made it to cincinnati from colorado in my Z :D The car ran perfect. It was a looong trip but the car ran really smooth the whole way. I was runnin 80 at 3600 rpm. I never completely ran the tank dry so i'm not sure how much gas i was burnin but i know for sure i was getting better milage than my wifes 1.9 5 speed escort!
The onlt thing i had go wrong is my temp gauge failed about halfway through Kansas but thats a easy fix. Now get this! As some of you know, I had expired tags, no insurrance, lost title (couldn't get insurrance without the title) Well, with my luck I wasn't even out of colorado springs and i got pulled over!!! I damn near **** myself when i saw him pull out behind me! Luckily the cop was super nice and gave me a warning since i was moving out of state after he seen both cars completely packed with all our stuff. he was cool and just told my wife to drive behind me to keep my plates hidden :) I had so much stuff packed in the Z that i had no rear veiw and had to take out the passenger seat for some extra room! lol! overall the ride was great. These cars are great touring cars. I was really worried about a 31 year old car making a 1500 mile trip but she ran perfect!! I can't believe it.
On top of it, this is a old school town with alot of muscle cars and i've been here 2 days and have already been asked twice if it was for sale :D (no it's not, lol) I've gotten ALOT of thumbs ups and alot of people matching my speed to check out the car :D The color really stands out in the day!
My brother inlaw drove me around town today to and showed me acouple z's around town. 1 dude has 4 sitting in his driveway, 3 240's and a 280. One z had a plate that read 580 Z and it was in perfect condition :)
So far i'm loving it out here! All you southern ohio guys expect to see me on the street. lol! I have the title in the mail right now and as soon as i get it it's getting plates, as a bonus kentucky has no emissions :D My sister lives there and i'm registering the car at her address ;)
This car has proved ALOT to me. I had over 400 pounds in the rear and the Tokico's barely sqauted(sp) To anyone that wants a take a Z trip i say DO IT! The seats were even comfy to sit it. lol!

Congrats on a successful road trip.
It's amazing how a 31 year old car can run right with the proper care. I drive a 1970 240Z daily. That's 1000 miles a week in Southern California, home of the never ending traffic. I've been caught in traffic for hours at a time, with no problems. when the traffic opens up, so does the motor. Cruising at 80 is rare on Southern Calif highways, but when the opportunity arises, I take it.
I had a 1978 Datsun 620 Pickup that had 450,000 miles on it before I sold it. Ran like a dream.

I live in West Chester, Ohio. Not sure what part of Cincy you are in, but they stopped doing emissions testing here the first of the year so you are fine registering it here. Also check out http://www.cincyz.com. And be sure to get a Skyline 3 way since you are here.
