Hi folks,
With the stereo project pretty much done, (still waiting on two speakers to be delivered) I thought I'd install some new parts I had hanging around to spruce things up. I installed a new thermostat housing and inlet. Whooa I thought that last bolt holding the housing to the head was going to break. However, one sharp whack and it broke loose. I cleaned everything up and got into multiple new touch ups as the process went along.
Gotta love those new parts.
Does anybody want the old thermostat housing and inlet for a 77Z? Drop me a line with an address and it's yours. If you have a bead blaster it will look like new.

Hey,
Actually it is orange, to match the car. I don't know why orange doesn't show up as orange in pictures I take of it. Weird. The valve cover is powdercoated, cost me $20 to have it done. The local guy here in Tulsa is real reasonable.

John,
Try to find a core turbo AFM.
Put the electronic guts of your AFM into Turbo AFM - much larger. It should be about the same size as your TB.
Your Engine compartment's looking just as good as your interior! Good Job.

I bet those used ones would clean up pretty nice... I've got a bead blaster if you wanna see what they'd look like.

Hi folks,
Still got a long way to go in the engine compartment but I'm getting there one piece at a time.
jmanz6, the parts are in the mail. Hey, look at the engine picture and see if you recognize the water pump pulley. It's one of yours.
Cyind, wow nice going. I was too lazy to break out the buffer so I did what I could do by hand. Wish I'd have seen that yesterday. Also, I clear coated my parts. Did you do that with your components?
Orange72Zguy, thanks for the info, I'll look into that. The engine has a considerable amount of modifications to it from the previous owner. For the time being, I like that it is reliable and starts whenever I start it and stays running. However, I always felt that it could do better and was being choked, so your suggestion was quite timely.
AcesFullof 10s, thanks for the offer. People like you are too far and few in between.
I'm dreading and also looking forward to the day I yank the intake manifold off and clean and polish it up. What I have found is I have to be in the mood for an undertaking like that otherwise it feels like a pain and it's not fun. I still love working on this car and enjoy the board for tips and advice. Man, some of you folks got some serious juice for working on these things. Just a pleasure to talk to ya. Thanks again.

I don't clear coat polished parts... I use Translucent Blue on them! Here is a few of them...
The Z31 hubs below are polished smooth the double coated. I used Almost Chrome and then the translucent blue over that coat...
I've got a bunch of things polished out but not coated yet! One of the hardest parts to polish so far is the Turbo AFM housings... This shot is still covered with emery and not polished out yet. Most of this was done with a dremel and some with my big wheel...

Cyind,
Now I'm really miffed that I didn't get out the buffer. I guess that makes it YOUR fault!! lol. Man that is some really nice work. No doubt about it, you just raised the bar. Thanks again for the pics, they were a treat.
