I think u heard that from me. I have seen articles that say if mitsubishi doesn't pick it up, they will get out of the US market.

I wish only Nissan is left in the US market.

I heard that anyone who has a penny can buy 100 Stock of crappy car companies (GM or Ford).
This is about the only "rumor" that is actually true. And the sad part is that per sheet, toilet paper is worth far more money than GM or Ford stock. To compound the predicament, stock wouldn't even make suitable toilet paper. I'd rather use a pinecone, and spare my omnipotent generosity for those freaking greenpeace zombies.
BTW; If these are such hard times for American auto mfg. you best be cutting Daimler-Chrysler some slack. They are currently successful and at least have a fighting chance of emerging unscathed.
Other than that I offer no condolescence to sympathizers of Ford or GM products. It's like following a blind shepard and continually choking down the rocks he feeds you (with a smile). You know that those large jagged rocks will eventually have to pass. But you proudly buy GM or Ford, and that's all that matters.

My wife's 99 Galant GTZ (a great looking car in my opinion) is our third in a row from Mitsu. We had a 86 Mirage Turbo, 92 Expo minivan and now the Galant which is closing in on 100k virtually trouble free miles with absolutely no major repairs, only maintenance.
Would I but another given their current situation? No. Plus the newest Galant is just plain ugly.
They did just announce reworking their labor agreement to cut costs at their Illinois plant, and they are a huge company with tremendous resources to weather the storm they created for themselves in the US with marginal products, service and a somewhat suspect dealer network. I hope they survive here because the EVOs and their small SUVs are apparently pretty nice products. The Eclipse looks good too, but you don't see many on the road.

Agreed about the newest Galant - it's in the same boat as the new Sooby Tribeca... WHAT THE CRAP?!?! Fugly.
I saw a GTZ on the road the other day, what's so special about em? are they the sport model or 4wd or what?

The GTZ was the top of the line 'Sports" model- all had 3.0 V6, 16" wheels, and a sports suspension, leather, sunroof and rear spoiler.

Are you smoking crack? DECENT performers at best, WHEN they were actually running. Almost every single story I have heard from every 3000GT owner I've met or read posts from have said they have had more than one problem with their GT. Plus the Evo and STi, given equal drivers can out accelerate and handle them stock for stock. They have decent power but they are HEAVY. ~3700 lbs.
God must love stupid people, he made SOOOOO many of them!
A:

But who of us hasn't had a single problem with their Z? Yes the 3000gt is a heavy vehicle and can be out done with other cars but so what? It all comes down to driver's preference and if they decide to buy a vehicle that another driver wouldn't have and considers crap (I'm looking at you GM and Ford) then that's their problem. And hoov100 merely stated that it was his opinion that he had driven a good car home, so what? Why fry him?
1972 240z w/L28, tokico shocks and springs, and a 5 speed waiting. Also running high performance ultra mega blinker fluid, that's at least an extra 50hp to the wheels.
1987 Toyota Supra Turbo 5-speed. Belongs to me until my friend get's back from Iraq.

Datto must have nothing better to do than pick on me since I have a modified Eclipse that would blow his shitty Z out of the water. I haven't even thought about him for several months, but it appears he has nothing else to do besides make fun of other cars that he doesn't have. Grow up and get over it ya piece of ****.
