I`ll use it as a daily driver/work horse.

2.5 liter? Had one about 14 years ago, they had problems with a head bolt breaking. It would overheat slightly at 55 mph, at 58 it was fine. It was a 4 speed and I gagged that motor every day, and it still chugged along and got about 23-25 mpg.
1983 280ZX N/A: 98% rust free, 118,000 actual miles.
1982 280ZX Turbo. $250 Parts car that was better than the rustbucket.
1983 280ZX Turbo. Hopeless rust case. The more I fixed, the more I found.

IF you ever want to change from work horse and make it a project some day watch for the reruns on this project and all of the new stuff out there now...
There is about four parts to the whole project!
Go to powerblocktv.com then click on trucks and review the shows information. Some cool stuff on V8, New suepensoin parts, Brake upgrades and body make overs... It's not like you have to do the whole thing...

should be a 2.2l, those engines have headgasket problems in Cavaliers, not sure about S10s.
