Q:
I think that is what I am going to call this car...
more pics for those who haven't seen at
bringing her back from death. Not comitted to the name just yet... any suggestions... I'm going to airbrush the name on the bottom of the hood when finished. That's all.
Also I will have a post in the classifieds, but if anyone has a good donor slick top roof please contact me: datsunmotorsports@yahoo.com I will come and cut it out if needed. I was going to t-top it, but after consulting 2 sources it doesn't sound like a good idea.

Wrong city. Call it "Project New Orleans" for many reasons.
A:
will be in Tanner Al when completed. So no relation to the city.
BTW Hybrid, the rust is minimal on the car. It's actually a lot better than I expected. The floors are free of rust...? Well at least the kind of rust you worry about. It had rust around the stud for the seat on each side, but nothing that compromises the floor or seat in any way. There is rust on the butt joint on the firewall just like all the other cars and rust in the windsheild area. Nothing major thankfully. All the wheel wells and undercarage are in great shape. The only bolts that gave a fuss and actually broke were for the cat heat sheild. The car will be cat-less as it is going federal so no biggy. Just thought you'd find that at least interesting if not unbeleivable.

Too bad, I suggested "New Orleans" because of it's years of neglect, then vandalism, then trying to restore something for way too much money only for misplaced sentimental reasons.
As fas as myths, a neglected high production, 2nd generation, middling performance car is not at all godlike and has nothing at all in common with the legend of the Phoenix. A better analogy would be the Frankenstein legends, grafting parts from the dead onto the dead and trying to make it alive.

Damn that's cold. To each his own.
Anyone can drive a new car.
A:
Hey, "Frank" would be a great name, especially when cutting and welding on a roof from another dead ZX is being done (though the trim will hide the scars).

"grafting parts from the dead onto the dead and trying to make it alive."
and it's kinda humorous...
And I get the New Orleans thing now.

I've done a lot more already I just am trying not to spam the crap out of Zcar with all the pics...lol
I'm going to cover in detail the roof repair for sure. MAybe even the glass replacment. The rest of the stuff is easy swapping.
I'll keep you guys up to date on Project Frank:

Hope I am not too late...but what about "Project Lazarus?" I know the only real relation is that you "brough it back from the dead", but I thought that was a cool name!

Lazarus?
That would only be appropriate if you expected it to die again in a few more years after this...
LOL.
A:
ha ha...yeah I think your right...it would still be a good name though. If I ever work a restoration project that is what I am going to name it!
