To me it looks to be very similar to a turbocharged engine but with full-time compression (perhaps even better compared to a supercharged engine). The secondary oscillating compression piston looks like a waste of energy compared to a super though..

The engine itself is less efficient. Basically it's a piston supercharger.

It is a piston supercharged 2 stroke! LOL, that would be fun. But like already said. The super charging piston/intake piston is somewhat of a waste. More un needed weight on the crank, robbing HP. Plus if you look closely the cumbustion on the cylinder is done with the intake valve open...?

Interesting design though, the compression tank I think would run out of air rather quickly if you were only running off of it.
