cursious to know about the 3gen eclipse. the gt has a v6 but it only gets the heavy ass car into the 15's with a good driver maybe the 14s. i have a 3gen eclipse. nice cars but not ment for racing. unless he dumped money in it by putting a ripp supercharger or a turbo on it. but its still fwd >_<

On Friday leaving work I beat a buddies 05 V-8 Nissan Titan by one truck length with my 83 F-150 with a couple mods. My truck is 1500 lbs lighter than the Tiatn which allows the Ford inline 6 with 3.55 gears to get up and moving. I let off at 60 knowing he would be coming around me at any time (in town also).
Black, bumperless, 78 Z with MSA superturbo system, K/N cone filter, ported intake, and exhaust manifolds.....15.9 @87 mph.

as for my accomplishments...5.0 GT, 3.8 mustangs and f bodies, an auto RX8 up to 35 MPH,lol, a Z32 NA, 240sx, friends 240z and 300zxt, focus zx3 with mods (actually at a drag strip)...gotten beat by some i'm way to embarassed to mention...

Ahhh, I always found it funnier to let someone pull up and start stomping the gas, then with outstanding courage say "Yes" when they lean over and say "Do you wanna go?". As the light turns, slide it into reverse and take off a lil bit as he tears down the road. If you get lucky enough to meet up with him a few blocks down lean back over and ask "Can I try again, I made a mistake".

My friend's 600rwhp El Camino could smoke all your butts.. and if he can't, he can just stick a smaller pully on the blower and then be able to blow you away.
Seriuosly though.. I always thought it was funny when riced up hondas would try to race me in my '76... thing looked like a piece of crap..
Most of the time, I would look at them like... you are actually trying to race me.... drop it in 2nd(in town), and smoke them... not to mention scare them half to death when they heard the sound of a giant crotch-rocket.
I'll have to take the '81 down to Speedway (the place/road all the riced and supped up cars go on Saturday night) once I get it back on the road... then the '77... I shall have fun again.
A good rule of thumb... don't really race them.. just give them a small taste to make them wish they actually had a "fast" car instead of dumping a few hundred into stickers, wings, and rims.

As far as what counts, to me "I beat such-and-such car on the street/highway" means absolutely nothing.
Race results, independently clocked lap times, and time slips count. I pretty much disregard anything else (unless it's a personally KNOWN dependable source).
