superchargers

General Chat

Q:

Which type of superchargers (if not all) whine? Twin screw? Roots? Centrifigal? Or are some just more noticeable? thanks!
A:

They all whine. I'd say centrifugal are the loudest though. Roots and twin screw seem to be about equally loud.

cent. whine like a turbo spooling. Modern roots are getting quiter. What sound are you looking for?

Roots blower combined with a gear drive up front. People will hear you coming from a couple miles away.
