I used to have a hatch and i do think it looks better. Right now I'm looking forward to buy one next year for my little brother as his first car.
A:
i like the hatch better for overall looks, but if i got one i'd get a coupe cause of flying low on the radar. my wife has a hatch right now, sweet car.

Hatch. It looks smoother and less awkward.
1972 240z w/L28, tokico shocks and springs, and a 5 speed waiting. Also running high performance ultra mega blinker fluid, that's at least an extra 50hp to the wheels.
1987 Toyota Supra Turbo 5-speed. Belongs to me until my friend get's back from Iraq.
A:
Hatch. I think the notchback was designed to kind of emulate the gt-r of the era in a lower price bracket. Ballistic is right about front to rear balance, but the difference is pretty much negligable, and both are quite capable machines in the right hands. You planning on getting one vash?

Actually this body sytle came out a full year before the R32 Skyline.

Ah, I stand corrected. More accurately, I think the Notchback was designed to kind of emulate the skyline gts, gts-x and gts-r coupes of the era, in a lower price bracket.
A:
they are both sweet if done up nice
although if i had to pick one (even tho i hate verts) the verts are the most sweet - then its a toss between hatch and notch though i think i lean slightly twards the notch but as i said when done up right they are all sweet

Why do Americans always associate the "R32 Skyline" as a GTR all the time?! They're not all GTRs! Also the first R32 came out in 1989, the very same year as the S13.

Hold up there. I was refering to the body stlye. Doesnt matter if it has 4-doors, 2-doors, a 4cly, a turbo I6, rwd or awd, they are all R32 Skylines and they can be called so.
Japanese model years are different the R32 Skyline came out mid-late 1989 they sold it as an 89 model, if they sold it here int he US it would have been a 1990 model. The S13 240SX was sold in the 1989 model here in the US, which hit the lots in the later part of 1988(In Japan the S13 Silvia was first sold as an 88 model). Therefore not matter how you slice it the S13 came out a year before the R32. The first Z32 300ZXs were also 89 models in Japan...
Does that clear up what I said in my message?

Yes lol I got a friend with an 89' R32, and for sale a while ago there was an 89' Z32 hardtop that was sweet so I know about those. Sweet year to have I reckon, very first run...

I prefer the hatch and would love to have another one, but now that the drifting crowd has taken over, it's hard to find an unmolested one. The '89 that I had was a lot of fun even though the engine was a boat anchor. I'm curious how Pallnet's car runs with the L28ET. The SR20DET swap is great, but that goes too far down the drifter path for my tastes.

Yes, ZX-AE is correct about the chronology of the 240sx to the R32 Skyline, and I'm sorry for causing such confusion by saying the 240sx was derivitive of the GTR (which I think was introduced on the R32 model). However, find a picture of the R31 gts coupe (or the gts-x or gts-r coupes), which I believe first came out in Japan in 86 or 87. That's the car I meant to indicate when I originally wrote GTR... my fault for not checking my reference beforehand. Anyway, it definitely looks similar to the 240sx coupe.
A:
Um, R31 looks like the 240sx?
