KMS- you big tease, yes more details on the CF top, please.
A:
The top is made by small racing company in Japan. They are making my Elise's rear engine hood and front panels right now. Shinoo from Sector 111 and I are going to Japan to attend the Lotus 50th Anniv. event this month and we will have more info for you when we return.

can we get the CF hardtop painted to match the car color?
A:
hmm can they make the front and rear clam out of CF?

Sure...they don't weight much in the first place though. Lotus Sport makes true CF panels for the earlier Elise versions. Maybe they will make some for our cars.

how much weight will we save with CF clams?

KMS,
You are THE MAN
I want those mirrors! I'm guessing here, carbon fibre housings with radar blind spot indicators, and MUCH lighter than stock!
Quando denero?
I'm not much of a hardtop guy but I'm in for the engine cover. Did you have your stock seats altered to allow the race belts to pass through, or did you change out the seats already?

Is there a downside to these lightweight batteries? If they cost around 50 bucks and save 15-20 lbs, that is a lot of bang for the buck! My Hawker Genesis couldn't start the car anymore one morning, after it got really cold for a few days. I ended up using a full size battery during winter. The Hawker works fine as long as it's not too cold. Just don't run your radio for too long with the engine off.

Mirrors will be available soon. Front and rear clams are available already but very expensive!! My seats are Reverie and BSK. Right now I have the BSK fitted on the driver side and Reverie CF seat on the passenger side. My Green Elise will get the Reveries and the Red one will have the BSKs. The BSK seats are made out of Kevlar and designed for Elise. It is a bolt on seats. I also have a set of Ti bolts for the SSR wheels. Here is my Red Elise's rear end.

It's a 26R-6YR. 550 amps, 80 minutes reserve. Delco 19001598
----- 29.5 Lbs ----- (per AC Delco)
So there is a solid 15-20 pound weight savings available to those who can consider such a mod.

Is the only reason that we all wouldn't consider such a mod the reserve capacity of the battery? (18 min for the PC545 or 24 min for the PC680 vs 80 minutes for the standard battery) Is there something else in the comparison I am missing? Of course, I am assuming you don't mind paying a bit extra for the battery.

How do you find the padding/comfort with either?

Yes that is the main thing.

How do the seat bottom widths compare for the Reverie, BSK and stock seats?
Thanks.

My apologies for not getting back to you guys sooner. We went to attend an event in New Orleans call Ferrari French Quarter Classic and we just got back. My 360 was in the Shop getting warranty work done so we took our Elise to the event. I will post some pics from the event soon. Shinoo (Sector 111) and I are leaving for Japan tomorrow to attend the 50th Anniv. Lotus event in Motegi, Japan.
Padding on the Reverie seats are fine for those who like the minimalistic approach. I was told by Shinoo at the SEMA show that the REverie is coming out with more padded pads now and they are available soon. So you can guess what I will be ordering soon!
The BSK seats come with prenty of padding. I ended up removing some. I am 5'6" and wear 31" Jeans and both seats fit just fine. They both offer much more support than OEM seats. Only potential problem I can see is that these seats are made especialy for the Elise and therefore, they are narrower than a regular size racing seat for sure. But I was very happy with these seats after a full day on the track with a bunch of Ferraris last Saturday. I wouldn't be with the OEM seats.

Hey, look us up in Motegi. Shinoo and I (my name is Wesley) will be there on Saturday. We will be hanging around with Hirotaka san from the Kawahara cars. Ciao!
Oh, here is a photo of my second Elise. I am not the guy in this photo.

No, It is a Pearl Yellow (metalic) used on the 25th Anniv. Esprit (Lotus Factory color). Flash from my Camera made the color look like Gold in the dark. Will post more photos when we return from Motegi Lotus event.
