Track Day Side Sill Protection

Interior Exterior

Q:
I had my friend measure and cut some low adhesion vinyl for the side sills of the car to be used on track days. Usually this area is full of black tire marks after a track weekend but this time...NONE. Yes blue painter's tape achieves the same goal but this looks better than blue tape and it comes off just as easily in one piece. It's faster to apply than blue tape too. Before and After pics attached.
A:
Is it reusable? How much $$$?

Yeah - I'd be interested too.
Also - Cool number circle! Did your friend make that too? I'd be very interested in that as well. Actually, probably even more so...

And couldn't it be done in color to "match" the car?

Can I order some from your friend -- I assume he's in the graphics business?
Any contact info would be appreciated. TIA

Is it compatible with Starshield? If so, sign me up. I'll take whatever color is cheapest. Seems that black would be a good choice for bulk distribution.
A:
I'll take a set.
A:
I'm interested also. Who? How much?
Thanks.
A:
Where do I get mine........
A:
I'd be interested too.

Count me in !

me too.

Wow I under estimated the interest.
To answer some of your questions:
Reusable? It's not meant to be peeled off and reapplied, but I guess you could reuse it if you are able a) peel it off without deforming it (easy to do since it's low adhesion) b) once off the car keep the sticky side clean. I have not tested reuse, so I can't guarantee that it would work the 2nd time.
Color? He only has black low adhesion vinyl right now. We talked about making white low adhesion sets in the future. He has regular adhesion in various colors but they are a pain to install and remove.
OK on starshield? Yes. It's low adhesion. I've even put on/removed regular adhesion vinyl on starshield without any problems.
The number circle? I gave my friend the vector file and he cuts it for me. The number circle is comprised of three separate vinyl pieces that are stuck together.
Who makes it? www.blairgraphix.com Tell him Trieu sent you.
How much? Ask him. He charges by the foot.
I'll ask you guys what you think is fair pricing for the side sill protection and number plates? 1 set of number plates = 3 plates. 1 set of side sill protectors = two pieces.

I had my sailmaker cut a set from "sticky back" that I used at Pahrump. The raw material is $15 per/yard for 54" wide. They recommend using Mylar in the future. I hoped to get it digitizied and cut on their laser plotter. I am happy to let this project go to someone else. I was planning on handing off the final project to one of the existing vendors. It is not my area of business but I buy enough sails to get occasional special work from the loft.

Hey all... thanks for the interest.
I charge $35 a set for the sill protectors plus whatever the actual shipping comes to.
I can do whatever number plates you like as well... they are applied on top of the same easily removable black vinyl that I use for the sill guards. This way you can have whatever colors you like and still have the ability to take the plates back off at the end of the day without issue. Or if you like I can not apply them to the black easily removeable vinyl and you would just have to lightly wax the area that you were going to apply it to before hand. I have somewhere around 50 standard colors to choose from and I have thousands of fonts as well. Price on number plates will very depending upon size and how many colors you choose.
As for reusing the vinyl... hummmm... it's not designed to be reusable but you could give it a shot. What I'm affraid of is that if you peeled it off and then say a month later tried to reapply it the edges may not have the same hold ability as they originally had... so I couldn't say if it might start to peel at high speeds.
I can take check or paypal. Just shoot me an e-mail or give me a call. All the info is on my contacts page on my website.
Have a good weekend,
Taylor
