Interior Exterior
Q:
Just thought I'd drop a photo and a short note about my new Ragnorak wing. There were a few obstacles along the way, but Brett shined with good, professional customer service. Installation time was about 2 hrs or so. I deviated from the included hardware a bit, and added some wider washers and thin rubber dampers at the leading uprights. While the wing is relatively stable, I'm working on a custom support bracket/plate to make it more so. I'll post some followup pix when done.
Nothing to report at this point in the way of performance. I'm an infrequent tracker, and the weather here in Ohio is turning north. Admittedly, I was after aesthetics as much as performance improvement. I'm not much for these big, gaudy wings that extend the full width of the car and parallel with the roofline. This one, as seen in photo 2, tucks nicely behind the upper profile of the Elise.
Overall, I'm very pleased with the wing and would recommend it to other Elisers in the market.

Request granted

thanks, looks great, especially with the black wheels...

How badly does it effect rear visibility?
A:
scotty dont you have enough mods already ?

Oops...should have mentioned that. You do lose about 40% of an already limited rear visibility. I find myself using my outside mirrors more frequently now. Something else to get used to I guess. I'll try to take a picture from the driver's aspect/mirror tonight or tomorrow.
Oh yeah, Cory, don't you know mods are good for you? (my wife rolls here eyes & estimates how many more pairs of shoes she could buy)

As MyElise states "Friends don't let friends drive stock!"

What does this do to the balance of the car if you don't put something on the front?

It should make it understeer more

It should make it understeer more
That would only be at very high speeds
Is that wing the Ragnorak or the PB Wing?
A:
The black wheels do tie it in nicely. Looks interesting.

Is that a good thing
A:
Would it be possible to post close-up pics of where it attaches to the car, inside and out? Thanks!
A:
Is that a good thing
No, but most people are not attempting understeer inducing turns at 80+ mph. My point is it is not as big as a concern due to the limited envelope it would happen in. Most times you are breaking before the turn and it would actually help in this regard.
A:
Is that a good thing
Actually I think it is.
A car's tendency to understeer decreases with speed. A neutral car at 50mph, will understeer in a 20mph turn and oversteer in a 100mph turn. Having more downforce as the car increases speed would be a good thing.
My opinion anyway.
A:
looks good. I like the small wing.
A:
looks nice. I like the black SSR's and red calipers too. Now get a front spoiler! Never ends, does it?
A:
And at what speed does it turn into a modern Herbie?
A:
Is that wing the Ragnorak or the PB Wing?
Yes.
Ragnorak resells the PB wing.
